35M 17 Sattelite

I am installing Dish sattelite into the system. It has an exretnal cable hookup. Do I connect the sattelite to it and will it then go through the splitter?

No. Your satellite dish draws power directly from the receiver. I installed a separate cable connection wired directly to the Dish receiver then I attach the satellite dish to that.

To do what you’re asking about is more involved but is described in this forum. Search for it.

All external satellite antennas require a home run coax cable connection to the receiver. The LNB on the antenna requires 12 to 27 volts DC power from the receiver or power inserter. Most TV splitters block DC current to increase picture fidelity. You should replace the splitter in your coach with one made for satellite antennas. DirecTV calls them green label because the paper label on the splitter is green. Solid Signal carries green label splitters.
