MB Sprinter Rear Wheel Speed Sensors

Has anybody else with a 2012-2018 Sprinter chassis received a letter from Mercedes yet?
It seems that the rear wheel speed sensors are suffering electrical failures, and this is disabling the Electronic Stability Control function.
They don't have a fix yet; but will send out another letter when they do.

There have been posts here where Sprinters have gone into limp mode due to failed wheel speed sensors. Is this the same issue?

Now that you mention it: I do remember seeing a post or two about that...
But if my poor memory is working at all: I thought that was about front wheel sensors.
But I could be wrong: of course!

There are 2 letters on the speed sensor.
1st From Mercedes- Extends the warranty on WSS Wheel Speed Sensors Front and rear to 10 years with no mileage limit. Applies to the 3500 chassis 2012 to 2018' By extending the warranty Mercedes is not required to do anything unless a speed sensor fails...
2nd is a Recall, ltr from NHTSA (Campaign 21V042000) and Mercedes will replace both REAR wheel speed sensors with a new improved model. This recall was because the WSS failure resulted in lost of the Stability program. (along with antiskid, cruise control, and anti spin)
BTW if you want to see how the stability program works.

Had a rear sensor go and put us into limp mode outside Atlanta after 11,000 miles. Waited until 0230 to limp into the Mercedes dealership.[emoji852]
