Lightbulb Atwood water heater pilot doesn’t light.

My water heater doesn’t light on the propane side. I know gas is arriving. I have cleaned the igniter and replaced the thermal cut off fuse. I am hoping I missed something before replacing the circuit board. This is a 2018 Thor. Suggestions?

It clicks and I see no arc. Tried hand lighting and got a quick blow but no light.

Is this the first that you've used propane in a while? Have you tried lighting the stovetop, and letting it run for a while?
(Sometimes: it's just air in the lines...)

Yes. We have used the coach twice since de-winterization and depended on shore power for hot water. The stove top functions fine.

Uh oh Bob? What are you thinking? Everything works except the pilot lighting? Have you experienced it? I think I need to go to RV repair school.

Over the years: I've developed a few opinions about these kind of things.
Once you've got a good flame working for you: it can take just about anything.

But Pilot Lights can be a bit fussy at times, and need a steady and uninterrupted stream of fuel. Any bubbles of air in the lines can really mess them up.

Sounds like the gas valve is opening but you see no spark. You might want to check this in shade or at night and make sure the spark is not shorting somewhere else along the wire between the board and the intended spark gap electrode. If you see spark in the wrong place, the board is working (probably) but the wire needs to be moved, insulated or replaced so the spark shows up where it is supposed to be.....in the gas. If there is no spark anywhere then I would suspect your board high voltage section may have failed.

Having same issue it worked or lite when I turned it on now. pilot lite out indicator was on so flipped the switch acted like was going to light you can hear from inside but no dice. Went outside it is getting gas just no spark. check fuse and wire all looks good. so looks like another trip to RV repair. I am reading manual again maybe I missed something?

Sorry to hear you are still not getting hot water. If you are getting through the ignition process to the release of gas (you smell the gas correct?), then probably the safety sensors are all working OK or you should not get that far. Do you hear the tic tic tic of the spark ignition attempts now, and if so, have you proven they are not sparking somewhere external to the gas jet location? No tic of the spark and I would suggest a bad cct board as mentioned in an earlier post. The other thing might be reduced gas pressure perhaps, but if your furnace starts and runs OK then the gas regulator is probably OK. The only other thing would be an obstruction in the water heater gas line or gas jet or the gas valve is not fully opening. Might be time for a mobile tech.

Had a problem with ours recently: sparked, lit for a few seconds, gas shut off, rinse repeat 3 times until locked out. It's like it didn't sense the flame. Replaced the igniter/flame sensor - same problem. Turned out the board was bad - replace it with a Dinosaur board and back in business.

My RV Tech said same thing go through all the steps and if no go replace with Dinosaur Board, do not waste time or money on factory board, unless it is covered by warrenty, then you probably have same issue down the road until you go the dinosaur route, that is all he replaces with now if it is a board issue.

Thank you all for the input, I am like a sponge gathering from everyone advise and or comments
this forum is awesome
