I am definitely looking to replace at least th Seiki in the living area before October's trip to Myrtle Beach ( Lakewood camping resort). Was there last year with the travel trailer which had a lg in it. Got 40+ channels which I am sure must be qam decoded.
Been searching on Internet but is pain because the specs don't always show tuner type.
Guess only way is to download manual like some of you said to do on every one
Tom

We had same issue last week. CG is probably using a QAM tuner. Seiki TV will not convert. CG loaned us a small TV to get by.

So far the Seikis we have are ok, as we almost always or always watch satellite TV. If it becomes a problem for us, new Samsung Smart TV's are not that expensive in the 32 inch size, which is what I would do, For now we are ok.

It just floors me sometimes that the quality standards in the RV industry are so low. I'm a contractor and if I tried to pull off some of the things that are accepted as "standard practice" on RV's, I would have been run out of business a lonnng time ago. Good thing they put that little sticker by the door that says it complies with the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association Standards... That makes me sleep much better, would hate to see an RV that didn't comply to the ....."standards" .

I just replaced all three Seiki TV's with Samsung Smart TV's. After reading all the posts on this forum it was the only way to go. My kids were with their travel trailer were picking up TV and we couldn't pick up anything with our brand new Miramar Motorhome.

I have not seen a usable wi-fi source at an RV park yet.

Apex
Dynex

Haier
Seiki
Sylvania
When you replaced the Seiki TVs, were you able to use the original TV mounts?

The newer Seiki do have a QAM tuner. A friend has a 2017 Thor Vegas and it does have the QAM tuner.

I was able to use the same mounts with my Samsung Smart TV. I had to move it over a slosh to make it work.

Using the OEM mounts is not a problem except the Samsung tv's I bought had larger diameter bolts and I had to enlarge the mounting slots.

We have a 2017 Windsport and our tv's didn't have the QAM tuners.

What digital tuner did you buy? If I can find a tuner which does not require the use of yet another remote, I might consider this option. The Thor warrant folks said you should be able buy 1 tuner and supply a signal to all 3 Seiki TVs in 2016 Thor Miramar 34.1 . I started to replace the TVs, but I have a hard time paying $ 750.00 to replace 3 'new' TVs in a new RV. Most of the TVs now have Internet Apps, etc, which is totally useless as RV Campsite Wi-fi is not generally usable.

You know, I just don't get it.

We've got a Seiki in the bedroom, and have NEVER had issues with connecting to a park's cable, or when using our Winegard Carryout.

Could our "luck" be due to the fact that when we bought our ACE we had the dealer add a second coax input on the rig so we could add a separate DirecTV receiver in the bedroom? Both TVs (the front one is a Jensen) work independently from the other, and there's never been an issue with the Seiki not working when the Jensen did.

BTW ... our rig is a 2015, so one would think that those TVs are older, and more likely not to have that chip (or whatever it is) to make them work with digital signals.

Another TV problem

Our ACE 30.3 has a 40" Seiki Smart TV that retracts into the kitchen counter. We have only been on one short camping trip so far and the TV worked fine. I have had the RV in storage for a week, brought it home this afternoon, and while working in the motor home I tried to turn the TV on and had no power. I tried using the power button on the TV as well as the remote, checked the power connection (under the sink) and everything looked OK. All the other electrical stuff seems to be OK. Anybody else had this issue and know a solution? It goes back for my 45 day followup visit next week, so if I can't figure it out, I'll let the dealer work it.

It was on shore power in the RV campground and worked fine. Worked fine on battery power before we went camping. I was on battery power when I tried it today and had no power.
