2017 Axis 24.1 windshield replacement blades

Took my Motorhome in for a oil change and said I needed new wiper blades. They said my MH took a 30 inch blade, and they couldn't find any around town anywhere.

I measured mine with a measuring tape and it measured exactly 29 inches. Does anyone out there have an 2017 Thor Axis 24.1? If so, have you had any luck finding replacement blades? What size wiper does your motorhome use?

Do blades just come in even sizes? I am confused why mine measured 29 inches and the serviceman said it took a 30 inch blade.

My ACE 2017 29.3 takes 28" blades. I wanted to get a better over lap by adding a few inches to the passengers side. I went to O Reillys for new blades. Trico makes special RV blades, I was able to get new 28" and 32" blades. The standard blade will not work on the MH as the wiper arm is wider than a cars standard arm. The cost was about $35 per wiper.

I bought a couple of adapters for my wiper arms that will enable you to mount standard size wipers. I replaced the 32" bus-truck wipers that came stock with 28" standard size wipers. Works just fine and I think I paid around $6-8 each.
Below are a couple of pics and there may be some other conversions if you do a search. I may have bought the adapters on Amazon or ebay.

Did you ever find wiper blades for your RV?

IIRC, I installed Bosch or one of the other name brand 28" standard wiper blades. Not near the RV now, so can't say, but the adapter will fit most any of the slip on blades. To make sure if you have the adapters in hand take them to the store with you to confirm fit. 28" blades are easy to find even at most big box stores.

Jamie - Those show 32 inch blades. They fit okay? They dont hit each other or the A piller?

I think we talked about this before... .Your wiper arms rotate the same way (like most cars) were the newer (2016 or 17+) Axis/Vegas are just opposite like my signature picture shows.

I went with same brand/model, but 28”
That way they stay out of the way of each other, but still do a fine job

Also, I recently purchased a set of Wiper Arm Adapters from Amazon so that I can use standard car blades on the wide truck arms

Good to know. Im still using the original blades but I might pickup some at the end of the season to keep on hand for springtime (if they last that long).

Mine is stored inside most of the time so they helps the life. Plus only used them like 2 or 3 times over the last two years. Lucky I guess.

Taylorbob1, You have the same windshield wiper issue that doesn’t cover the left of the DS? How did you fix that? Adjust it up and use shorter blades?

Yuuup
I pulled the blades off (with a puller)
Then lined them up the right way
But to work correctly I had to downsize a bit to 28”
Looks & works just like real OEM...(or the way they should have built it)

Thanks Taylor, Now that you have done it I wonder if you think one side could use 30 and the other 28 or is 28 for both the only way this will work. I have the adapter coming tomorrow so will be playing around with this soon. Did you move the drivers side above the passengers side?

suggest that you stay with 28" on both.
driver's blade sits below passenger side, no changes needed there.
as previously stated, 28" provides adequate coverage.

Taylorbob1, With the PS off the shaft and my DS adjustment up about 5 inches it gives another couple of inches to the side. To get it to completely cover the blind spot i would need to adjust it much more vertical at rest and its starting to look ridiculous. Am I missing something?

FYI, I just replaced the windshield wiper blades on my 2015 Vegas 24.1. I took RV to my mechanic, he tried the blades he thought would work, but they did not. I came home and did some research on this website and picked up info on two blades that someone said would work; they were NAPA part # 6-2855 and TruVision TV8-32. My mechanic ordered the NAPA blades and I ordered the TV8-32 from Amazon (ordered Friday, delivered Sunday). The NAPA blades did not work and the TV8-32 did work. I post this just in case it helps someone else with a 2015 Vegas 24.1.

A perfect example of why you should use the search function to locate information on your problem. Search TV8 “posts” and see what your find. Now people will find your post along with others when they search.

I have a 2019 Axis and it takes a standard 28" blade. I can buy them anywhere.

Carol, for my 2016 Vegas 24.1, I was about to give up finding wipers. I thought I might have to buy new arms and blades.
I looked on Amazon and found blades that fit. They are: on Amazon, Trico 67-284 28”, Heavy Duty Wiper Blades, sold by Wipers 123.
They are an inch shorter than the original wipers, but I see no problem so far.
If you decide to go with this, please let me know if you are pleased. Johnny
