Thor Windsport 29M Outside Refrigerator

Our factory PD outside refrigerator stopped working. It’s 2’H, 18.5”W and 19”D.

I picked up a 2.6Cu. Ft unit that fits from Home Depot. The fine print says, “ This unit is not designed to be installed in an RV or use with an inverter.”

Any help or suggestions on finding a suitable replacement would be appreciated.

Chances are; the one you are replacing was not designed to be used in an RV or on an inverter, Lawyer talk to void your warranty.

My only concern, if you plan to use a typical dorm fridge in a RV, is the type of inverter you have. Most induction wound AC motors do not do well with a modified sine wave inverter. So if you limit your outside fridge use to cooler days (below 75 degrees (a guess)) on the inverter, you should be OK. With generator or shore power running the fridge, there should be no problem. Just make sure it is well secured like the original.

Thank you both. Comments are very helpful. I secured the back and front using the same bracket. Fortunately everything lined up.

I plan to use the outside refrigerator only when plugged into the campsite 110. Do you think that will work? I think the problem is circulation as well. Very close to walls. I’m thinking of a battery operated fan during operating hours to help cool the unit, as well as leaving the RV door open. Thank again.
