24f water pump chattering

Have a new 24f, and and about half the time you turn the water off the pump starts to chatter for about 1 sec every 10 seconds.

I assume the cut in and cut out for pressure are set too close together. Is there a way to change it?

I would suspect a leak, if it happened all the time.

Thoughts?

I would suspect a very small leak. The pump is triggered on and off by pressure. When the pump turns on it builds the pressure to its high limit and shuts off. As the leak allows the pressure to drop, it takes a short time to reach the low limit which turns the pump back on. The exact cycle you describe.

Right, but it only happens once and a while, and I can usually get it to stop by running a couple seconds of water then turning it back off.

I still believe the cause is a very small leakage of pressure. I may be wrong.

I had a similar problem but it was that the pump was sucking a little air from the pickup side. If you ran the water like you did the air would purge out of the pressure side and it wouldn't cycle off and on.

Look at the filter on the pump when you first use it and see if there is air in it.

Can't rule out the check valves in the pump leaking back into the tank--you'd never see water anywhere and it would continue to do it. Perhaps there is some debris in the pump.

I had the same problem on my 24f. The strainer bowl was not tight enough Once I got that issue solved I noticed Thor installed the strainer backwards causing the pump to run more than it needed too. Reversed the strainer for the correct direction and everything is now fine. Thor should have caught this but the QA sheet that came with the coach had everything checked off except the water/plumbing checks.
