Ok so quick pithy question

I realised my last post rambling and unclear. Tried to be funny and my question got lost!
I tried to edit but IDK why wouldn't give me the option
What do yall know about the updates for the 2019 axis units ?
Would y'all wait and pay extra for those features?
Thanks

Took me two years to decide what I wanted but I'm not really gonna hit the road seriously until next year. I did however have a TT in place while I was looking. I think a lot has to to with your plans now, if they are pressing. I do believe it's smart practice to purchase an RV at least a year before you plan to "depend" on it. It gives you time to adjust to it and learn how everything works...(or don't). Not sure of the upgrades coming but it's a pretty serious decision. If it's something you can't live without...wait. I'm too old to wait to long anymore for anything.

Exactly
I do need the ambulance now lol
But apparently going to a micro sd touchpad control panel and induction burner whilst leaving one gas in the two burner stove
Not sure of the other changes
Would like to know more about the touchpad and any other changes?
Esp the touchpad and if it REALLY WORKS with your phone etc
Unfortunately will not have a year to dial it in but must hit the ground running
May haft dial it in on the fly

The touch pad does pair with your phone but sometimes won't recognize it. You have to delete it from your phone and start over. When it works, it is convenient. The touchpad is also a new feature on many units. Not sure how it will fare with freeze thaw and condensation. I personally would prefer switches and good old fashion tried and true methods that you can work on yourself. Also bring your own mechanic to test out systems. Prep only covers a walk thru to fix cosmetic damage. Most dealers don't test systems - they leave those surprises for you to find.

Thanks Chasing, Gritz et al
Disappointing as energy wanes that so much work to be put into a pleasure product

At one point switched to Apple from MS as tired of building my computer and just wanted to be productive on the computer
Computer hobby stopped at 8086 chip
Same concept here
Hmmmm to find someone knowledgeable to go with me?!

Only I can answe for me r but would it be worth extra $ to wait for touchpad/multi to y'all?
And no one has a crystal ball to know if mine will actually work
Thanks for the explanation
That's helpful info

AND...RV production is starting to drop off. Dealer lots are overflowing with inventory and the factories are starting to lay off workers. This a good time to order a new "camper" of any type as it will be built without such a rush on the assembly line...hopefully better quality overall.

Gritz,
Wow, where did you hear the news about the production? I thought they were more limited by Chassis from Ford than anything else....

Would you mind providing a source to that? I'm reading just the opposite. That the city of Elkhardt is in need of folks to keep up with demand and unemployment is at 2.2%, one of the lowest in the nation.

The only chassis issue I know of is for the F550 for Super C's. Regarding slowing production, a guy I met this weekend (not the Media) was in Elkhart last week and 2 people that work for RV manufacturer's told him this, as well as a few others he spoke with around the area. Not the Gospel and don't sell your stocks but rumors generally start somewhere.

From what I have been seeing crossing this country is that the trailers move a handful of times and become permanent housing. There is a crisis with affordable housing with rapidly rising home prices and wages that are not keeping up. Millenials and non-skilled labor may elect that living in a TT or 5th Wheel is the more appropriate alternative to traditional living. For me, living in my motorhome that I bought brand new is still way cheaper than the house I just sold.

That's awesome!
Milineals for sure! Any part of the country?
I cod see that in Seattle or Cali
I think it depends though
I also know peeps that could spend one MIL a day
I know a lady bought an older rig and I calculated that for what she spent when AC went out and square footage etc
She could have more space in a small apt for less money
She was a big box wally worker but I guess it depends what kind if rig you have, apt ,house etc and what kinda living u wanna do
I'm afraid these cities gonna enact ordinances and some already have.
Everyone gotta get their $

I can't speak for all of Thor Industries , but I can provide what I saw and heard at Jackson Center, OH. They are up to $5,000 signing bonus for those who complete the 90 day trial for factory floor workers. When I first toured the plant in 2006, they were producing 47 trailers per week with 20% going to Europe. I was back again in 2013 with grandson in tow and the production was 54 and going to 67 per week. I went through the plant again a month ago and they were hoping for a production rate of 74 per week and are doubling the plants production and repair facilities sizes. All the 2019 production is sold out to dealers and they are 20% sold for 2020. Not bad for a trailer and motor coach manufacture where the trailer sell from $35,000 to $140,000 and coaches go for $165,000 to $215,000. Remember Thor only builds dealer ordered coaches and trailers. No unit leaves the factory storage lot until is fully paid for by the dealer. If you special order a coach your order is substituted for a coach already ordered by the dealer or to the end of the batch order for your coach type. I toured plants 750 and 850 just after purchasing my coach (2016) and found the factories both over-stressed. The plants were switching from first order in/first coach built to batch production and the dealers were not too happy about that. The workers were agreed that is would speed production and allow for more timely component purchasing.

Good info about how things are handled
Even Thor dealer sales rep called Sat by dealer gave wrong info
There is a slight colour change too
Eventually I will persevere and find out lol
Overworked = stress
Guy that just sent me letter from Thor that said call me with questions is no longer with company
Yikes
