Ace 29.3 outdoor kitchen sink
We have a 2015 Ace 29.3 with the outside kitchen. While winterizing yesterday, I noted the sink does not completely empty. It has an electric switch that pumps it out but there is water that never drains left in the bottom of the sink.
I don't know if this is "normal" or if there is a problem with the sink.
What has been your experience with this model?
Thank you in advance.
Bob

Could it be how level you have the camper? The kitchen sink on our Axis has a nearly flat bottom and if the unit isn't perfectly level will retain a little water (until we hit the road).

The problem on mine is the sink never completely empties...there is always water left in the bottom of the bowl. low point drain will not empty the sink.
Does yours completely empty when you drain it?

No, we have built in levelers and I always level it when camping. I have checked it with a level on the floor and it is level.
The sink just doesn't completely empty... that is to say the drain seems to be slightly higher than the bowl.

It is actually a 2016 model, not a 2015...

I have a 29.4, 2016 model and have to use the macerator pump to drain the sink completely. My pump switch is under the cabinet on the wall. Did you know that Camping World charges $29.95 to winterize the sink when you have them do the winterization. That's just to blow the water out of two llines and not add antifreeze! How ridiculous is that!! I'm doing it myself anyway - but I had to ask.

What's the difference between some RV Dealers and crooks? One uses a gun and the other holds you hostage.

Bob,
When you say the sink doesn't drain completely does the water remain in the sink or does the macerator remove the water and then when turned off the water comes back into the sink?
The reason I ask is there should be a one-way valve in the drain line and if it doesn't completely seal when the pump is off it may allow water from the drain line to back into the sink.
On my Challenger when I drain the outdoor sink I might have a few tablespoons of water remaining but that is because of the way the drain pipe flange is mounted to the bottom of the sink.

The outside sink on our Windsport always has a little water left after using the pump, not anything to worry about unless it's a lot of water. If you are winterizing the coach just pour in a little pink stuff, run the pump, and you're done.

So I guess this is how they mount the drain pipe to the sink. Yes, the bowl cannot empty...I always have to get paper towels to soak up what cannot drain...I wonder if all the sinks were designed this way. I didn't have any problems winterizing it.

The sink sits below the level of the other drains, this is why we have to have a macerator pump, to pump uphill. Guess it's one of those quirks you just have to live with.
