The ole test if you havent seen it is put a couple sheets in a jar add water and shake a few times, if the paper falls apart its good to go in an rv tank. Also don't get sucked in by all the hype about chemicals to break down the waste, its called a Holding tank for a reason, its not a septic tank.
PS: we use to use Angle soft paper with is excellent but the sams is cheaper
How quickly does yours fill?

only 2 of us and I haven't yet had it fill completely, the longest we have been out at one time is about 5 days and it was close, but I tell the wife to watch how much water she uses when using the bath sink. This rv has the smallest black tank I have even had in an rv, even our Class C we traded in had a 34 gallon black tank

Maybe I shouldn't be posting this on an ACE thread, but do you folks with the black tank issue have a black tank flush installed? If not, IMHO, the installation of a black tank flush around the questionable part of the tank might help with your issues.

If there is one installed you might consider adding a second nozzle around that area of the tank. Running a half gallon of water through a tank flush directed at the shelf every other day might clean off any debris that accumulates there.

Inverter .... 1800 watt?

Another nice feature of our 2016 Ace 29.3 is the inverter. ... I have noted the manual says my model is 1800 watt.... and it works fine with the three TVs and the outside refer as far as I can tell. What I don't understand is why it will not run the microwave (by itself) or a coffee pot etc. What has been your experience?

Black Water Tank

It seemed the black water tank filled too quickly with only the two of us, however, after returning from a recent camping trip (see picture) it appears it doesn't fill as quickly as originally thought. In our experience, it will appear to fill too quickly if you don't use plenty of water when flushing (#2).. If you fill the bowl 1/2 full and then flush again 1/2 full it seems to make sure you don't get those false readings...

Anyway, after two days and two nights and not trying to conserve, we only lit two out of four lights on the gauges. Again, we used water and didn't try to be stingy with it. I took two nice hot showers, and didn't hold back on using the water...we started with a full water tank and used half of it according to the gauge.

When we left the campground (the gauges showed two lights each) we dumped what seemed quite a bit, first black then gray... and guess what? The gauges showed both tanks empty after dumping..just like they should.
