Would like to know where the power to the radio is coming from.
It us not called out on the fuse blocks specifically. When the radio is turned off there is a red glow around the on off button. That must be using power while in storage.
I don't want to install a batter disconnect on the Coach battery as it charges during the day via solar panel and Bird panel solenoid. After 3 weeks or so in storage outside the chassis battery was dead. Removed it, no easy task, and brought it to an autoparts store they charged it in 15 min and tested several tome and it was OK. Baffled by this. Because it hasn't happened before.
Reinstalled battery and will be monitoring.
This may be dirty terminal so upon reinstall I made sure they were clean and tight.
Could the drain be the radio.

First - no dead FLA battery is fully charged in 15 minutes.

The radio has two power sources:

Main power from the house batteries, interrupted by USE/STORE switch.

Keep alive power from the chassis battery.

FYI..."Keep alive" power refers to memory presets. It is likely a few milliamps. If that is affecting your chassis battery - especially with any amount of solar feeding it - there is another hidden issue you haven't discovered yet.

Maybe a stupid question... but are you CERTAIN the radio is OFF? It shouldn't have a visible light source for a knob if it's off.

Yes the know light is blue when on and red when off. It us red.

Best medicine is keep it plugged to at least 120V, 15A shore power when stored (checking fluid levels monthly) or disconnect batteries completely while in more than a few days at a time storage. There's entirely too many parasitic drains on the batteries. If my coach batteries go dead from drain, it will start to pull the chassis batteries down next. This happened when we first move to the beach and I had it in corn field storage. It cost me 4 batteries...brought it home, plugged it in...happy batteries since.

Assuming your 2022 Axis is wired like my 2021 Axis:

The radio is powered from the house batteries through the on/off switch which goes to the converter located in the entry way. Turn off that switch while in storage and the radio will turn off as well as most other parasitic loads. The solar panel will continue to charge the house batteries because the panels are wired directly to the batteries, ie they bypass the switch. The chassis battery will be charged by the Precision Circuits BIM 160 (not a BIRD) from the excess current from the solar panels.

With the battery switch on and everything else off, the draw on the house batteries is about 0.7 amps. That includes 0.2 amps for the Girard water heater (which can be turned off with the outside switch). The remainder of 0.5 amps is the BMPro, the radio, the Winegard and ???? The radio draw which is a few tenths can be turned off with its on/off switch.

If you turn the house battery switch off, the parasitic draw drops by a factor of ten and your solar panels should easily keep up with that. So always store with the switch off.

So...., with that background: 0.7 amps for 24 hours is 17 amp hours. Your solar panels will put out that much on a sunny day, but on average with cloudy days, probably not. That would lead to your house batteries slowly dying.

Why did your chassis battery die? It should have been protected from discharging with the house load by the BIM 160. I don't think this is the cause, but maybe- Thor often wires the BIM 160 incorrectly and you may need to swap the heavy cables.

You can determine which cable is which on the BIM 160 (which is inside the engine room just in front of the driver's side wheel well) by disconnecting the house battery ground so that nothing is connected to it and then with a meter check to see which wire on the two big terminals is still hot. Then the hot one is the chassis battery and should be connected to the chassis battery terminal on the BIM 160. Like I said Thor often connects them incorrectly, but it is easy to connect them where they need to be.

See the attached which shows the correct connections. The chassis battery should be attached to the Battery A terminal and the house battery should be attached to the Battery B terminal as shown in the diagram at the bottom of the attachment.

The BIRD trombetta relay was wired wrong.

My 21 Vegas must be mis-wired. I turned off the house switch and the chassis battery went dead. I now leave it on and have had no issues. Solar keeps everything charged. I will look at the schematic and fix it for the future.
