Recall for Lippert steps

Has anyone else received a recall for the electric steps? It says an internal bolt can break on steps. Steps can stop in wrong position or become unstable.

Mine do feel unstable like a bracket or support is loose. Now that I see this not sure. I have not had an opportunity to get under and look yet.

If so, have u had yours fixed? Thx, Dennis.

I greased mine and the steps still hesitate going down. I think we are lucky the work at all! A lot of folks have some kind of trouble with their steps.

Lippert may replace and then we can take our RV's to Camping World for a 6 month rest!
I think I'll just wait until they just fall apart...………….(LOL)

The recall is just for the triple and double steps. No single or manual steps are included in the recall. If your coach has 16" or 19.5" wheels your are excluded.

That’s what I’m trying to avoid for sure. Camping world isn’t high on my list.
I called Dixie RV in Calera al as their listed as the Thor dealer about 1/2 mile from CW. BUT they’re brand new here (year or less) and won’t wotk on it unless purchased there. I hope I don’t ever eat these words but it may be a cold day in hell before I’d ever spent a dime w them. Thx

I have a single powered step. When we bought the MH, it did not work. the pin was broken or gone from the mechanism that moves the step in and out. The dealer repaired it while we waited. Now the only issue is it moves a bit uneven going in and out. A little grease on the slides usually takes care of it.

Lippert Steps on my Serrano

Bottom Line Up Front I had my steps fixed due to the recall.
I was having an issue with my steps (stuck in the out position). So I googled to see if there was a recall & there was. I called Thor & was told there wasn't a recall on my Serrano steps. So I called Lippert. They informed me there was a recall & they didn't understand why Thor didn't have it in their system. So I sent pictures of the Lippert Steps Model & Serial number to Lippert. After a lot of back & forth with Lippert, Thor & the RV Service Center they agreed to fix my steps at no cost to me. Lippert gifted my a motor for my steps, paid for the labor & the service center to fix the recall. The motor was not part of the recall but they said because of all the confusion with Thor they would take on the cost to get my steps in working order.
