THOR #6246
Axis

I own a 24.1 axis and I have the driveshaft problem also. My unit has been out of service for four months. Mor-ride has replaced the driveshaft but will not put in writing that they will warranty their work they said that's Thors job. Called Thor they said Mor-ride should give me a warranty. Ford won't touch it and Camping World is no help also. I have secured legal counsel which has told me not to pick up my unit until somebody gives me in writing that I have warranty for all chassis engine transmission etc. My attorney says they may have committed fraud by not telling me the chassis has been modified and saying Ford is responsible for warranty. This is a major problem. Ford said the angles are not correct and that the problem will show up again. This is very frustrating. I'm very disappointed in Thor and Camping world.

Why didn't a Ford truck shop do the work? IT'S A FORD product.

Supposedly but nobody wants to claim it. Ford says no Mor-ride says no and Thor says Mor-ride should warranty it.

We do and if Thor doesn't make it right I'll sue for Fraud. They claim the warranty was held under Ford but because they modified the driveline Ford will not honor the warranty

Yes. There is another Rv owner who's vegas only had 2000 miles. Just poor engineering and manufacturing.

Can it be driven? There's a lot 24.1 out there i don't understand why yours is having trouble does it shake or vibrate or make a noise? My 25.2 makes a pretty bad clunk when i go for forward gear to reverse.

Not safe. The vibration is horrible. This has happened to others. The driveline is out of balance which can cause problems with bearings transmission differential. Stretching the unit is a mistake. The angles according to Ford are off and this problem will not go away.

You should also see a Ford dealer about that. There was a TSB about a similar noise for the Super Duty pickups: The dealer would take apart the drive shaft and re-grease the splines in the slip joint. Granted the Ford dealer might not want to tackle that given my below statement.

Des123456: It is my understanding that Mor-ryde extends the frame and lengthens the driveshaft for Thor. Thus Ford really would have no responsibility for that.

Exactly so why doesn't Thor take responsibility ?? Why should I have to deal with Mor-ryde? My unit has been down for four months!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer and anything I do have about this is pure speculation.

This is an instance where you need to bite the proverbial bullet and retain an attorney that is familiar with these kinds of cases. It won't be inexpensive, but in the end you should prevail and get all your costs reimbursed. I agree its a PITA and unfair that you should need to be doing this, but with all parties pointing fingers in other directions, I see no other way for you.

I would suggest you check with a independent driveline specialist in your area, with all the THOR AXIS/VEGAS rv's on the road i think you have a isolated problem.
