Amp Hours 6 vs. 12 Volt
Got this from the Lifeline Battery web site.
GPC-4CT 6 Volt 20 hr @220 amps 492 amp hours @25 amps
GPC-27T 12 Volt 20 hr @100 amps 186 amp hours @25 amps
Looks like a pretty big difference in power for dry camping.

I see only 20 amp hr less for a similar space. Remember double amps in parallel and double voltage in series. Next compare individual cells and factor based on their parallel totals. With lead acid, note a deep cycle capacity to weight relationship.
6V GC batteries weigh about 65-68lbs or 22lb/cell
12V g27 about 60-64lbs or 10.3lb/cell and 20.6lb in parallel
Typically the 12V g24|27|31 deep cycle batteries are marine (blended with starting battery design characteristics) vs. the more true deep cycle cells in golf cart batteries. A nearer 12V equivalent to GC battery cells can be found in a single 4D or 8D form factor.

Not much difference in Capacity for dry camping.

FTFY, what you posted made no sense and would be confusing for anyone trying to figure out the real difference. Units matter.
Using these 2 specific batteries, (2) 6 volt batteries will give you 10% more stored energy than (2) 12 volt batteries.

From what I read, the six volt batteries do last longer.... The cost difference with the LifeLine brand was not much different between the 6 and 12 volt but if they do last longer, it is worth it to me. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input Ted.... what I posted was from the Lifeline battery web site. If it makes no sense, don't know what to tell you. Whatever works for us. I was pointing out what I had done with the rig. 12 volts will work too. I was looking for something that I wouldn't have to replace quite as often.

12V Lithium Batteries..
Just wanted to add this to the discussion....
seem like the 12v lithium batteries are the best route to go? Really heavy on the wallet but may be worth the trouble..

Lithium Batteries? They're the ones that are also much lighter, and smaller: right?
We were investigating them for use in our motorcycles. The cost scared us off!

Another "expert" who doesn't know the difference between amps and amp-hours.
As far as getting your information from the Lifeline web site: that's where I got my information as well, but since they don't have GPC batteries listed I used the GPL batteries.
And you are right, the 6 volt batteries do have about 10% more stored energy and will last longer - how much longer depends on the load.

The key to those drop in lithium (LiFePO4 chemistry) batteries is they have a BMS that controls charge and discharge. This means adjusting/changing out the RV's charging systems is not needed. This really matters with AGM because float voltages set for FLA, like most RV converters are set to, will significantly impact AGM's usable capacity over time. <--- can't stress this enough as I've personally experienced this and know several other RV folks have their AGM longevity expectations shattered.
Certainly the lithium batteries are cost shock up front. Though we can skip the cost of converting the charging system when compared to the AGM alternative.
One 100Ahr lithium is roughly the usable power equivalent to a pair of 220Ahr GC batteries when you look at capacity (power in/out) over time. In almost half the space too. A longer look in cycles over time shows lithium can continue providing the power of multiple lead acid battery sets.

We traded in our Minnie for a 2017 Quantum WS31 this past Oct .... after looking all summer for the one that would fit our needs. Good Luck
