Kenwood
I'd love the new radio. I do have the Garmin RV-760. It is a great unit and I am very happy with it. I have yet to figure out Basecamp but the GPS is very nice.

Our 2015 Vegas has the Axxera AV614BH with dual mirror technology to replicate my smartphone display. To use the capability I need a special cable to connect the phone to the radio rear AVMI & USB connections. Is it safe to assume the AVMI & USB ports at the bottom of the center console are connected to these ports on the rear of the radio? It will tick me off to pull the radio if I don't have to.

Ed,
Yes they are; but you have got to have that weird looking cable (allows your smart phone to be charged -USB plug - while the mirroring - HDMI plug - is doing it's thing. My wife's Galaxy does fine as does her iPad...my Windows 8.1 phone does not work as it does not have the mirror option.
Now, I have a question. The emergency start switch is to be used if the chassis battery can not crank the engine (in theory it draws off the cabin's 1 or 2 batteries). Does it work in reverse?? If the cabin batteries are too weak to crank the generator, if you use the emergency switch will it put enough juice to crank the generator?

Mike --- thanks. I'll get the cable. Want to use my Android Google maps instead of buying a nav. In response to your question - I would think so because when you activate the switch in essence you are just "jumping" the chassis battery with the house batteries, electrons flow both ways -- I'm not an EE but I have stayed in a holiday inn express.

Had that happen on my prior coach and the answer is on that coach was no. I had to start the engine which in turn charged the house batteries enough to start the generator.

Where did you get the funny cable for the radio? Put the Axxera P/N in amazon bit nothing came up.

Ed,
My son go it online from Amazon. I think it was $12 or so. You can mirror the Nav program to it, but does Google Maps use your phone's Data Plan?
I have a Garmin for another vehicle so we just use it in the RV now, but - when traffic is crazy - a program on my wife's phone called WAZE (it does use your Data Plan) gives real time traffic information for your position such as accidents, slow traffic, stuff in the road, on the side of the road and location of police. It is updated by the users as you verify what has been reported and report new stuff as you come up on it. Neat little App.

WAZE is indeed a neat app - my wife will often use it on her Android Smartphone while we're on the road, but be aware that it's a power hog. She normally keeps her phone plugged into a USB port in the truck while using it to keep the phone charged.

Waze is a cool app and was recently purchased by google (I wonder if that means waze-like features will be popping up in google maps in the near future).
In addition Waze will frequently offer special "guest voices"; like at the moment you can have Stephen Colbert tell you where to go LOL.
(Just go to the languages menu and there is a "English-Stephen Colbert")

Jamie,
Stephen Colbert, cool.
I always thought "Mr. T" would make a great voice for Navigation.

My Google on my
Motorola mini Android has a traffic option that shows accidents and incidents. Also shows road seents in red where traffic is bogged down. That was why I asked aboit irroring in the first place. Want to use my smartphone with traffic option and my GPS location -- but all of that is a power hog. Hence my need for the HVMI and USB y-cable. Need mirroring & charging at the same time

I have the plug for my IPhone, used it to play movies on TV while we are out of town. I have not been able to get my Mirror function to work, bought a new active HDMI plug per Axxera. We have all ready done the software upgrade.

I had planned on doing this but did not really like it. The display did not fill the entire screen and it was not very easy to read. Plus it did use my data plan and I didn't like that. I have a 7" Rand McNally GPS that I like much better since it takes the type and size of RV you have into account. Just my two cents.

I can adjust the volume while in camera mode!!!
Plus, the Kenwood comes with the Garmin RV/Truck navigation so, looking forward to playing with that more.

Hi, I've a 2017 Vegas. Did you have to make any mods to install the new radio?
The radio on my 2017 Vegas is not working! I need to replace it. Thanks.

No mods were necessary. They were both double-din sized units.
