axxera AV614BH in my Ace 29.3

Anyone know what kind of cord is used to link your "smart" phone and the radio for gps functions etc? I tried the one that plugs into my phone on one end and has the usb connector on the other and it doesn't work. What works and where do you get it? Thanks in advance.

Bob, you need a special USB/HDMI cable. Here is the manual for the radio, it has the info you need. 2 different cable depending on if you have an Andriod or I-phone

Dual 11 pin 3foot SL113a This is the one for a samsung. There is one other cable SL55A which is a 5 pin. I purchased mine on ebay . Plugged it in and works great. No need to buy a new radio just to get nav. Projects the phone and audio thru the radio. No need to turn on bluetooth for this option.

Did you have to pull the radio or can you plug it in on the front?

It will depend on the smart phone. The iPhone needs the charging cable, and adapter to connect an HDMI cable and an HDMI cable.

Note from experience, its a disappointment due to video quality and I wouldn't waste the money.

Actually the quality is not bad. Saves from trying to look at the small screen on the phone.
What I did was call Dual. They were really helpful. The cable cost $25 and free shipping.

I have an iPhone 6S and the quality was pretty good when I used it this past weekend. I had to buy the HDMI adapter for the iPhone and used a spare HDMI cable and my usual charging cable.

However, since the Axxera is kind of a one size fits all, I will most likely be using it as a camera most of the time when towing to keep an eye on my Jeep back behind us and just use the iPhone as the GPS with CoPilot RV. I also have an iPad Pro 12.9" which would be even better, but I don't have the room to mount it!

I'm like Dave. I found the iPhone connection not a great quality, and like jpmhalik I like leaving the camera on to watch the Jeep to make sure its keeping up with us. Besides my right seat navigator does better turn decisions and call outs than the phone. Also, the right seat navigator can occasionally spot the faulty directions that take you around a exit and enter loop for no good reason. That happened to us last summer near Virginia Beach. Another point for me is with the right seat navigator I don't need to take my eyes off the road to glance at the screen.

I really could not find a convenient place to mount the iPad for navigation without putting holes in the dash.
