Basement storage!

Hello everyone. My girlfriend and I just took possession of a 2013 Thor Challenger 37GT. 13K miles only 80 hrs on generator.

We are new to the motorhome scene so my question is what do you use to secure your "stuff" in the basement storage compartments???? Several of the compartments have a passthrough to the other side. What are some ways to keep everything from sliding around???

We have a Miramar, which is similar to the Challenger.

I was just thinking about that today. We have a lots of tubs and bins that we "jenga" around the basement and in the pass throughs. We bought a $35 ladder at Aldi the other day and it fits nicely in one of the pass through bays.

Thought this through 3 years ago. One of the issues are poor use of the pass through, stuff hanging in lower part of the basement, etc. Here is a link to how we upgraded our storage. It was fairly cheap to do and has worked very well. We use bungies to tie things down the installed shelving like zero gravity recliners.

We use Tupperware containers for most of the small stuff and wedge in stuff that is in the pass throughs to keep anything from gaining momentum and smacking the doors from the inside. As full timers, we are pretty full down below. Our rule is "if one goes in, one comes out."

2014 Windsport 34E, there's not much basement storage space in this rig so you learn to utilize what you have. We used covered plastic bins. We recently bought a telescoping ladder that fits perfectly in the pass through.Click image for larger version
