Charging Question?

I have a Hurricane 32N with 2 coach batteries and a 1 for the engine.

I thought that they would remained charged by simply leaving the coach plugged into shore power when garaged, with the toggle switch on.

Am I mistaken?

Thank you.

If your "Use/Store" switch is in the "Use" position: it'll keep the Coach Batteries charged for you.
As far as the Chassis battery...
I've heard it said in here, that it is isolated from the other two.

This is a GOD question: let's see what the experts have to say about it.

depends on what you mean by 'toggle switch ON'... is that 'up' or is that 'down'?

being 'plugged in' also only means that 120v power is available at your coach's ATS(automatic switch box) to your Breaker panel.
IF, and I mean IF, your Charger/Converter is ON, then your HOUSE batteries should be trickle charged.

IF, you have a bi-directional relay, or similar device, you MAY also have trickle charging to the CHASSIS battery, but all RVs don't necessarily have that, and many times is not necessary since there is little to no draw on the Chassis battery while sitting.

By "toggle switch" I meant the Use/Store switch. Looks like I'm OK as long as I check the batteries water level once in a while.
Thank you both for your inputs,

Not sure about you particular unit....

On most Thor units there is a Trombettta relay that connects the chassis battery bank to the house bank while either plugged into shore power or while driving as long as voltage is >13.5VDC. The relay is VERY prone to failure. Not hard to troubleshoot if you know where it is on your unit. Cost ~$70 if out of warantee. Better units available aftermarket.

FWIW
