Driver side window - blows up
First off, Thor has been great about covering this under warranty.
Now the facts. Driving across Wyoming on I-90 in June at about 68 MPH, we heard a loud bang. Looked around quickly and then back at the road. Noticed the fixed glass in the driver's side, was totally shattered. I quickly slid the back glass forward to cover the broken glass, slowed down a bit and then found a safe place to pull over in about 5 miles. Removed the majority of the broken glass and went on our way.
Fortunately, DW had taken pictures of the window shortly after it had broken. This was very useful to prove that nothing had hit the window, that it had simply broken.
Good news - this is automotive glass -breaks into small pieces. So no large shards of glass flying around.
Bought a piece of 1/4" plexiglass, drill some holes and used 2' bolts and some fender washers to affix it to the side. Later used some windshield gasket sealer to ensure I wasn't going to get rain coming in.
I drove on like this for another 5500 miles and a RV wash. No leaks. Just left it off with my great repair shop and a full set of drivers windows being installed.
Question: anyone else experience this?
Question: any ideas on how this happened?
PS: This was in our almost brand new Thor Challenger 37 TB.
