Chateau 28Z

Hi there and Happy new year:

We just bought a 2016 28Z. This was a decision 10 years in making!
We are suppose to pick it up this coming week after the new year. I am just searching if there is anything specific items that I need to maintain, update or fix. I have read about loose drawer screws and that's it. I have also read about occasional wobble in Ford E450 front end but it seems there are some update on stabilizer and sway bars which improve or fix the issue.

Thanks,

Allow three to four hours for you to do a good PDI. Do not sign ant papers until after you are satisfied that all is Okay. Make them show you how to drain the black tank and the grey tank. If your unit has levelers make them show you how to work them run the slides out 10 or 12 times. If it has a power bed run that up and down. Have them show you where the water pump is check the water system. Operation of the AC and the furnace. Google for a PDI list take that with you, and check everything out Remember it is your money do not take delivery until every thing is fixed. Meet the service folks and the parts guy, Than take your new unit out and have fun enjoy.

Thank you fhenn. That is what we plan too do, go through PDI check list that we have printed. Our concern is actually couple of things: One is the fact the unit has been winterized (it is in Spokan WA with temp in teens and twenties), should we ask them to dewinterize it? Should we winterize it again? We want to start taking it out for short trips to get familiar with it. Second, we live in Snohomish WA which is 280 miles away from Spokan. We had to buy the unit from them because that was the only 28Z within 300 miles radius of us and also because of the price, we got over 30% off of MSRP. Our local dealers wanted to wait until new year and they wouldn't give us a firm price. I have to say, although the unit is a 2016 model with 2400 miles on it (very normal mileage for brand new RV in WA), it is a used unit. Somebody bought it in Sept, used it for 3 days (who knows about this part but since it doesn't have much of mileage on it, it should correct) and then they traded in for a 35' fiftwheel in late October since the floor plan and space didn't work out for them. So, would be there anything else that I should be watch for before I take delivery of it?

Thanks,
