Chateau Cover

Hi all! Looking for recommendations for class C covers? Won't be out much this winter and want to get it covered ASAP. Thanks!

My recommendation is just to get one that fits properly (e.g. get an appropriate cover for your rig in the proper length). You want it nice and snug with very little "flopping" about.

The elements ones campingworld sells are pretty decent.

I have an ADCO one that is about 4 years old (so far for the last two seasons I've thought that this was the last season for it but its held together pretty good so far but we still have a few months of winter to go).

I have been googling and had sticker shock when seeing some of the prices on covers. I found one for $190, but I would guess wouldn’t last long or perform well. (You get what you pay for) For those in northern states with persistent snow cover, I’m sure it’s important to remove any accumulation from the roof on covered unit. How do you do this? Ladder and push broom? (Not being on the roof)

Do nothing: The snow doesn't really accumulate on the roof that much in the winter. Usually the wind and the material on the top of the cover make it so the top doesn't get that much snow.

Its very difficult to get on the top in the middle of winter with 2-3' of snow around the RV, and the cover frozen to the ground. So I just leave it...

Honestly I don't think snow on the roof is that much of a problem. Sure it can weigh a lot if it gets really deep but I haven't seen it get that deep. We've had an RV for 20 years now (2 TT's, 1 5er, and the Axis), have been storing our coach in the same lot for about 15 of those 20 years and have never seen our RV or any in the storage lot have any damage from the weight of the snow on the roof. (There are a few "abandonded" RVs in the lot that look like they have been sitting there since the 1950s--the roof is still intact.)

I think it makes sense to cover the ac units and maybe any covered vents just to keep the ice out of the inside of them. Otherwise a full cover can just be slapping against the winter all season long due to the wind, never mind the snow.
