coach / chassis battery cross over issue

I have been messing with batteries since I bought this thing. Today I was testing amp draws to figure what I might disconnect when boondocking. I have a knife style disconnect on the coach batteries which I forgot to use last time I parked it. A week later my batteries read 6 volts. I have recharged them, but not sure they will hold. While testing amps I found my chassis battery powers the 12v system when the coach batteries are disconnected. If the use/store button is put on "store" the 12v power goes out. On use it will run off the chassis. If I disconnect the chassis from the box under the hood that has coach and chassis cables running to it then 12v power is off when the coach battery is disconnected and on when connected. I don't think this is right, but read some box keeps chassis and coach batteries connected until coach falls below a certain voltage. Any ideas or comments? I plan to call Thor this week, but who knows what they will say.

Thanks
peter

I'd recommend reading this. It explains how all this works.

Thanks, it is way beyond that thread. There is an inherent problem with the CCB boxes. Safe bet, disconnected the chassis battery from the box when dry camping..

You are testing an abnormal condition... When switch is in 'USE', coach batteries are expected to be present,,,

Not really surprised by your result... I expect the 12v chassis power would disconnect as its voltage dropped.. Actually nice that everything can still be powered (for a little while at least) on a single battery.

Certainly possible it is wired incorrectly...

While I was testing some of this; I pulled the 15 amp fuse for the Trombetta relay and maybe it powers the B.I.R.D. also but this killed the chassis battery over night. It also seems each coach is hand wired without following a standard loop diagram.
