Courtesy Light Blinks

Ford 2017 E350 chassis 24.1 Vegas
The courtesy light on the dashboard comes on when the ignition is turned off and will stay lit for a few minutes. The dash instrument rheostat will turn it on, too.
At night with all the interior lights off, I noticed that it blinks on and off but very dimly. Anybody have a clue if this is telling me something bad is happening with the electrical system?

No clue, but nothing bad is happening. Mine has done that from day one with nary an issue to be found with the drive train.

My hypothesis is that light is what would be the "dome" light on a car/van. Thus whenever the ignition is on it lights up and when you turn the ignition off it fades off. I figure the slight flashes it does is simply bleed current from some other circuit (from the looks of the flashes I'd say CAN network traffic). I tend to use it as a proxy for the state of charge in the chassis battery: If its on bright the battery is good.
