Hey ! You might try fiddling with the MODE button on your Axxera radio .. that button is in the upper left corner of the radio casing. It seems to control the camera, among other things !
If that doesn't help... I have nada !!! Good Luck !!

Did the entire radio die or just the cameras? If the entire radio died there is a reset button (small hole for inserting a paper clip) on the upper left portion of the radio. Press the reset and see if it reenergizes the radio. My radio dies once and I had to hit the reset for it come back from the dead. That radio was replaced during my warranty visit because it keep loosing power while driving.

Not sure about your coach, but mine also has a camera controller. The three cameras plug into the controller and then there is one cable going from the controller to the radio. The controller also require 12VDC of power so that is another item to check.

Here is the link for the controller if you have one installed.

Voyager Multi-Camera Controller

Oh no, Your troubles are not making me confidant about getting a 25.2 this fall. I have a handicapped adult son and want to buy in Dec and the leave for Florida. Not sounding good, reading your posts. I hope all gets repaired and you have a wonderful trip. I have had motorhomes and traveled with him all over the US. It makes it easier to care for him and eliminates the bathroom problems.

You can't judge by a single example. There are a few others on here with the 25.2 with different experiences. Also keep in mind that the ones happy with their camper don't seek out forums to "complain" that they are happy.

Your best bet is to read a lot on here and find a really good dealer. My impression is that many who have used Camping World have had less than exceptional (or good even) service from them...

In addition, when you do purchase your camper, stay in contact with Thor. Their customer service and responsiveness has been very good.

I have been reading on different forms for 9 months now. Trying to make a list of what to look for and a PDI but it just keeps getting longer. I don't live near a CW or for that matter any dealer. What I am getting worried about is my need to buy on in Dec and leave Dec 29 for FL. I can see that is cutting it too close.

I am so sorry to hear this. We have a 2016 Vegas and we are new to RVing. There is a man in our Vegas section who has put together a fabulous manual of problems and how to fix them. We have experienced the problems you have had and we were able to fix them ourselves. If you will email me your email address, we will contact you tomorrow night. (Hubby has already gone to bed or we would answer tonight!). Both problems were easy fixes and no trips to the dealership. Btw, we live in NC, but we are Texans. I grew up in Richardson, my husband in Garland. My email is ruthe252@icloud.com. I know it is frustrating, but chin up! Ruthann

I bought a 2016 Vegas 24.1 two weeks ago. its still in the driveway awaiting its first camping trip and its return to the dealer. I have found a handful of items that I will have the dealer attend to on principal. no show stoppers. I hope you get your rv up and running to your satisfaction.

Yeah I can see that; typically with a new RV you'll want to make at least one short overnight/weekend trip to break it in before embarking on that long trip. Living in IL and wanting to pick it up in December kind of makes that difficult (especially if you're in Northern IL).

I'd suggest picking it up earlier if you can, like Sept or Oct and camp a few weekends in it. Then winterize it, store it for a couple of months, pull it out, unwinterize it, and take your long December trip.

We picked ours up in Feb (in 2014--one of the worst winters we've had around here! LOL) and waited until April to take it anywhere (it was still barely above freezing). Our first long trip with it wasn't until August of that year. Was a tough wait visiting the camper with 2', 3', even 4' of snow around it..couldn't even get into it for a while LOL.

HI ! Jamie, along with many others on this Forum, has good advice. For your own peace of mind, do make your purchase in the fall and get to know your motorhome. Since you are not near a Thor dealer,..and me not knowing where in ILL. you are...I suggest you might consider some of the dealers near Elkhart, Indiana.
Some of the forum members have purchased from one of the area dealers and have everything good to say about the ownership.

Ron and I shopped about 2 years before we bought our first motorhome in 1999 !! We have never been disappointed in our decision. We went from lake living to RV living and only wish we had 360 days a year to travel.

So, with that said...find a dealer you are comfortable with...decide on what you want and enjoy the ride !!

We all are here for you !!

Axis 25.2 2016 issues

We picked up our 2016 Axis 25.2 today. As I drove it off I found the rig pulling to the right if I released the steering. I got it up to about 60 mph and did not think I could safely keep it on the road in a 12-15 mph side wind. Drove to a restaurant to calm down.

I have driven 4 door pickups with 40' gooseneck racecar trailers, class C motorhomes and never felt that uncomfortable.

After lunch we took another short drive across town and found that the dash ac would blow but not cool.

At that point we turned around (12 miles driven) and went back to the dealer. First service guy questioned my ability to drive (I have driven lots of things over the years - won a race at Daytona too - so thems fightin words) but then we found the salesman and he was very nice about it.

I left it and they said they would contact Thor and Ford. We have our fingers crossed that our first new purchase wasn't a giant mistake.

Welcome to the forum!
The very first thing for your new pride and joy is an alignment! Chances are the dealer may not figure that out, even though there is a sticker right by the driver that tells you to do that.
Search the site here for alignment, track bars and Safety Steer. There has been a lot of discussion of each. Just don't spend a dime on any of that before you get it aligned.

2016 adjustable castor bushing part number?

I am looking for the specific part number for an adjustable castor bushing on my 2016 Axis 25.2

I have found the thread discussing one for earlier models but they are not shown as applying to the newer chassis. Of course, they may work but wanted some guidance before ordering.

Thanks,

JM

I think you're spot on the right track! That wild ride of our first outing is a distant memory Similarly, when our rig was new the castor bushings I found didn't list our chassis year but the alignment shop we used said no problem they had appropriate sleeves in stock.

Muleshoe-
Exactly the same thing with our 24.1 Axis as far as steering issue you discussed. After much consternation, waiting, calls to Thor, visit to the Ford dealer.... no one wanted to pay for the alignment. Thor promised me $250 which I have not received yet.... I bit the bullet in the interest of safety and comfort and paid for the alignment and the installation of a Saf-T-Plus stabilizer. It drives perfectly now.

Rod'sMom -- I have compiled an owners manual specific for Axis and Vegas. It also has a comprehensive PDI with specific Axis/Vegas items from problems or suggestions by owners.

Additionally, the manual is designed as a self-teaching tool on how everything works in the Axis/Vegas. It also has suggestions, cautions, warnings, etc. that fill the gap in what the dealer missed during their PDI.

Send me an email at bevedfelker@live.com and I'll forward a copy. It is also available at the following link (although some folks had problems with the link). If the link doesn't work, just send me an email.

We had all of our problems fixed and we are well on our way (now in Pigeon Forge) on our 6 month trek. It seems that all new RV's have kinks to work out, so I will take a deep breath LOL. Our latest problem happened while staying here in Pigeon Forge. While sitting on the patio I kept smelling propane. My husband told me that he did not. After several days of this I and believing that I wasn't just s super sensitive sniffer, I shut off the propane and called a mobile tech. It was a good thing because there was a split at the main line. I will try to post a photo. Thor said they will take care of the cost just send them the faulty part. The part was special ordered and will be installed today--

Lokisgirls,

Note to self, pay attention to DW's observations. Good thing you caught that.

Not sure of your plans from Pigeon Forge but if you are heading south you are a little over 1 hour away from Cherokee NC (Harrah's Casino) and a great RV Campground "Happy Holiday RV Village" 1553 Wolfetown Rd, Cherokee NC 28719 (828-497-9204).

Great trout fishing stream (Soco Creek) right off the back of the sites (#94 thru #108 are our favorites). See picture.
http://www.thorforums.com/forums/att...1&d=1463748486

Have a safe trip.

Doc

Take 321 South thru Gatliburg and keep going South.

Thanks Doc for the recommendation!! We are actually heading North eventually to Nova Scotia, P.E.I, Maine. We are staying in New England through the 3rd week of October then heading back down the East Coast. We will be in Savannah for Thanksgiving and Fort Wilderness Disney for 2 weeks in the beginning of December then back to Austin. I highly recommend the small rv park we are in. It is called Up the Creek. It is small quiet and on 2 creeks and it is just beautiful!!! That trout does look yummy though
