Sleeper Sofa on a 2016 Class C Super C Chateau

We bought this unit about 3 months and we were going to use the sleeper sofa but the air mattress they gave us was too long. We have been dealing with the dealership, THOR and the manufacturer of the couch and they keep sending us an air mattress that is too long. Has anybody else run into this problem or does anyone have any suggestions. Should be a simple solution but apparently it isn't. Very frustrating since we bought this unit because it could sleep 10 but is only sleeps maybe 8 with little ones.

How much "too long" is the blow up mattress they gave you? Most of them are
not exact.

I'm curious too
and in which floor plan?

I haven't blown up my air mattress yet. had always intended to before the warranty ran out, but was too lazy with the thought of folding it back up nicely.

Now I have to do some repair, since the power cord got caught in the folding mechanism of the sofa and sheared almost in two pieces.... very dangerous, that thing is....

It is about a foot too long. We bought the 35SB Bunkhouse model.

And it won't fit or just overhangs the frame? We had one where the mattress overhung the frame by almost a foot but it didn't hurt anything as long as you didn't sit on the foot of the bed.

It won't fit between the arms of the couch. If I could attach a pic I would so you can see what I am talking about.

I suggest that you try a Coleman Full or Queen inflatable mattress while the dealer sorts out their issues. That way you can continue to use your motorhome.

During our maiden voyage at DisneyWorld's Fort Wilderness, (the night that we picked up the brand new shiny motorhome), my 14yo son slept on the Hurricane's inflatable mattress on the sofa.

The following morning, I noticed that he was sleeping on the sofa's frame. The original mattress had a very slow leak that I couldn't locate.

I headed for the closest convenience store and picked up a Coleman Queen air mattress and he slept comfortably the rest of the trip home.

About a month after we returned home, and exchanging under warranty, the parts department worker determined that the original inflatable mattress had a leak in the built-in pump, and not the vinyl.

Thanks but I have tried that but they are all still too long. I need an air mattress that is 54 x 65.

shoot! I knew I'd rather have had the jackknife!

My gut told told me that the air mattress was going to be a failure point and trouble. I just never thought of it not fitting from the factory!

I guess I need to get on the job of splicing the wires so that I can test it out!

Yep. I need to check it also. Although, DW tells everyone that the MH will only sleep two.

Please let me know if your mattress fits when you get your wiring fixed.

I checked mine this weekend and it fits just fine. There is a bit of overhang on the front (head end) but the mattress is stiff enough that it won't cause a problem. Also found out that there is room between the foot of the bed and the kitchen counters to squeeze by if the bed is down and we want to get out the door.

Thor has come to the conclusion they put the wrong couch in our unit so they are sending us a different type of arm for the couch. This arm should fold down so the mattress will fit, we will see.

I'm having issues with our sofa sleeper in our new Chateau 35SF. The sofa was shipped W.O. The folding leg. So if the sofa is folded out the only thing that supports it is the hinges. My dealer shipped the leg to me but I need to see where it installs. Leatherette with inflatable 72" mattress. If you have a photo that would help.

We have a queen bed in the rear. The sofa is for guests and grand children. Just trying to ask for help from the forum and I.D. What the bracket looks like attached.

understood...I was referring to the original feed on this thread...We have an Axis, so I doubt showing you a photo of our sofa bed would help....If you think it would...I will be happy to take a shot of it and post the photo.
