spare tire carrier for Thor Gemini RUV

Since there is no bumper and my slide goes out the back, are there any recommendations on a spare tire carrier? I wanted one that fits into the hitch receiver and could be folded horizontal when sitting up. Flips back vertically when time to hit the road. I have seen one years ago on an early SUV but can't seem to locate one now. I really dont want a basket type carrier.

Have the same issue with our Gemini, on the Mercedes chassis. I thought I found a spot to have a bracket installed under the bedroom in back, had my tire guy check it, he said they have tanks mounted in the way, not enough space. Haven't given up, still mulling the where and how.

tig, what do you have this mounted on? Looks like it's something that would work well for me.

it goes into hitch. then i put tow bar in tire carrier. or you can use it for bike carrier. you can lower it to right or left side of motor home.

Look at the Roadmaster 195225. It's expensive but very well made and does what you want - the carrier attaches to the hitch and tilts easily out of the way when you need to open you slide. Just don't forget to do it before you run the slide. I wonder...do slides have automatic reverse for obstructions? Like garage door openers?

I do not think the slide has an auto reverse if it encounters an obstruction. The slide running into a spare tire mount would likely do a lot of damage.

Guess I will go shopping when we return from this short trip. The Roadmaster does sound like a good option.
Also may consider a small enclosed trailer so I could use it for other items. When at a park it could be locked with a wheel lock and an occupied sign on it to hold our space when out site seeing in the RV. But then I wouldn't have my spare tire with me.I started loading things up today and didn't realize the outside storage space we dont have. Those compartments are really shallow.

Update: stored spare under couch. It was just wasted space, now it serves a purpose.
