Sumosprings showed up today. Hardest part was finding a socket & extension combination the correct length. I used the 1/2” spacer with the shorter bolts that came in the kit resulting in 1/4” clearance between axel housing and Sumo.
It’s windy here today (15 to 20mph cross wind on I-10). A quick run mixing it up with the 18 wheelers showed a noticeable improvement in stability. Compared to the way it handled when we drove it home from the dealer is night and day better. I believe it’s the combination of proper front end alignment, correct tire pressure (70# for me), and the Sumosprings SSR-121-54. I recommend them for anyone with a Ford Transit based Gemini/Compass.

Hugh

Thanks for that report. Glad to hear the possitive results on those Sumo's. Did you use any of the spacers? I will be ordering mine very soon. But first I have some glass issues. Landscaper knocked out a window in ours today. I guess it has to be a special order to replace.

Attention Please, This Vehicle is Backing Up.

I had taken my Voice Back Up Alarm from our old RV for our new one and
I have no idea why the alarm won't work on the Compass. i tested the alarm with a 12v battery and it works fine but when I tapped into the reverse light wire it wont work. A voltmeter shows a good 14v at the reverse light.
Is it possible their isn't enough amps?

How long is the lead from the backup light to the alarm. What is the voltage at the alarm? I doubt current is the issue, it couldn't need much, but a voltage drop in a long lead could be a problem.

Thanks for your reply Laco. The lead from the alarm is less than 6 inches. I even disconnected the wiring harness, brought it inside and applied 12v to it and it works but when hooked back to RV the backup light lights and no alarm.

Hmmmm, a less than 6 inch run should not present much, if any voltage drop, unless one of your connections has a lot of resistance. Run a continuity check from your first connection to the last, just to eliminate or confirm resistance as an issue.

We have 2017 just purchased in January. Yes, we have had some ankle biter problems as well. The major components have been good and design is very good. Just found out that we could adjust the rear camera back up targets which were out by 30 degrees. Much better now. made major change under the couch and have way more storage now as well

We have the TR model. 3 close to home trips in central Florida so far.
Here is a photo of the wine cellar we added under the couch. Also, we raised the table storage to the top position so that we ended up with tons of additional storage under the table storage support.

Try 3rd time hopefully

Hope this one makes it!!!

The table top holder was moved up higher to allow access under for storage.
The wine cellar(haha) is 3 " PVC. I have made another one. Instead of 3" PVC on both sides, I now have 4" PVC on the left side and 3" PVC on the right side. They are glued together and have nonskid on the bottom of the holder. Don't move or rattle.

Good job on the bottle storage. Some of us have turned that area into spare tire carrier and I added pull out baskets for storage. I think I like that wine storage set up enough to replace or redesign one pull out basket. Good job

Has anyone come up with a fix for the slide out wiring? I have attached the plastic support to the top inside of the slide out. Works ok but there is still wire showing when in the slide out position. Didn't know if there was a better option.

Can you post a photo? I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

I was shown this on my 23tk, 2017, but refresher?

As you enter the coach from the side door, there are several toggle swithces on the left side next to the steps. I know one is for interior lights, but need a refresher on remaining switches. Have not taken it out into the wild yet.

thanks

Slide electric photo

Very hard to take this photo. It was taken looking up with the slide in the closed position.

When we first got our Compass I thought the slide wiring was funky, I think that’s just the way it is. The wiring isn’t that noticeable on ours with the slide out.
