Slide wiring

Mine always sounded like the wiring was ripping up the cushion underneath. It appears to be caused by the zip ties holding the wires to that flat, rubber section, so what I did was remove that side cushion. It solved the problem for me.

One is the Use/Store switch, one is for the step light and one for the awning. At least that is how it is on the 23TR and I wouldn't think they would be differant on yours.

Where do they put the Battery Monitoring display in your coaches?
In our Outlaw: the "Use/Store" switch is part of that, and it's mounted kind of next to your pictured switch panel.

Mine does not have a battery monitoring panel except for the tank level panel. I can't read voltage output or anything other than charge percent.

I didn't know that: I assumed that they'd put that equipment in ALL of their rigs...

Bob,
Just noticed that you appear to be a Spyder rider. Gave up my two wheels last spring and joined that club. So to keep with the theme of this forum, do you trailer yours with your RV? New to the RV end and trying to come up with a solution where I can do a small vehicle or the Spyder with my 23TK, Ford chassis. Would have to be a trailer. Wife is thinking used Smart car and after comparing the sizes of both, max width and length, not much different. Any and all other comments from anyone appreciated.

On ours, battery voltage is monitored and displayed on the inverter control panel.

The inverter was added as part of the sale conditions I insisted on. The control/display for the inverter, is next to the light switches on the side of the cabinet the sink is mounted in, to the left as you enter the motorhome. The inverter is a Xantrex/Pro 1800 watt, mounted on the forward wall of the storage space on the passenger side, just behind the entry door.

I LOVE that red!!
Get yourself an Iron Horse Trailer, and take the bike with you!
(Tell your Lovely Bride, that it weighs a lot less than the Smart...)

If it was up to me I would be happy with just having the Spyder along. But, have to compromise sometimes. Going to focus on the RVing first and see where that leads.

The Missus and I were REAL close to pulling the trigger on the purchase of a Compass, and an Iron Horse Trailer...
Then she said, "Why not just buy a Toy-Hauler, and taking the bike along will be easier!"
I obviously married WAY above my "pay-grade"!

Air conditioning question
Hello everyone.... first post here. We bought our Gemini 23TR in January and have made two trips so far. I was reading all our issues with the stock A/C unit. I confirm ours is weak too and struggles even in moderately warm days (low 80s). I read where some of you installed a second A/C - but I don’t think I want to take that route. I mean roof space, house power going to 50 amp, not to mention a pricey upgrade (I’m guessing 5k for everything).
So my question is, if I upgrade to a 15k btu unit, will that be enough to make a difference, or are two units the only real way to cool the coach?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Hello, Joe.
Upgrading from 13.5 to 15 might not make much difference if your ducting is as restricted as mine is. I would check and see 1) if my ducts were restricted 2) if the power box is in the middle of the return and if it is, move it out of the way 3) what, if any. cfm differences there are between the two units.
We found that unless you can get the cooler air TO YOU, then there isn't much improvement.
As you probably read, the other way to go is to prevent the hot air/heat from entering the coach leads to an improvement in cooling.
Welcome to the club! Happy RVing.

I agree: that's only about a 10% improvement...
...And welcome to the forum!

Hello and welcome,
Our first camping trip is still a couple of weeks away. We.re still waiting with the service department on waranty issues.(batterys and fridge)
I'm replacing the batterys with a pair of V-Max 85ah for our trip.(fit nicely)
Meanwhile the Compass has slid nicely into its primary role.
Every Sunday my friends and I meet to enjoy our hobby, my old RV had provided us with shade, shelter, coffee and power for 13 years. I know the Compass will deliver.

Hi Joe, Nice to have another Gemini/Compass owner on the forum!
I'll be interested in the idea of a higher BTU AC unit vs the 2 AC unit solution.
I have done many of the things mentioned: added baffles to the end of the vent runs; tried to move wiring from blocking the air intake cavity; added window reflectors; started AC in the morning ...and still underwhelmed by its performance.
Here is the link to it's website. There are suggestions from the support page check power to the unit and actual unit settings that I have also tried. https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/pro...uin-ii-_-20673
The good news, as I understand it from speaking to a Thor rep, the warranty on the AC unit is 2 yrs so I'm hopeful that if I do have a defective AC unit I can get it replaced;-)
Nancy

Cure for Texas heat:
We discover early the ac couldn't keep up with heat loads coming from the chassis windows. I purchased driver, passenger, & windshield covers from Heatshield. They worked so well I contacted the company and they custom made a cover for the Compass23TR skylight. Super nice company to deal with. It took a while but the end result was great, $39.95 plus $17.89 shipping. The difference is dramatic!

Heres another welcome to the forum Joe. Good to see this group growing.
I too would like to see how these a/c issues are handled. I think I would rather add a second unit than upgrade the standard model. The main reason I say that is it would be possible to run the living room unit when sleeping. Secondly a backup would be nice since it seems to take weeks for repairs. However if you decide to upgrade you can probably sell the factory unit real quick to someone who wants to add a second unit.
Mine froze up while in the Iowa last year. Very humid day and the a/c was running steadily doing a poor job until the temp sensor froze up and shut it down. That was a very uncomfortable day. I spent most of it in a Bass Pro Store.
