A slide out question
On the compass model RVs, is there a way to manually operate the slide outs in the event there is no power or some other issue that prevents the slide out from working normally? Some other RVs I looked at had means to do this.
My particular model has the slide out dinette.

Drain hoses
I saw on some other forums for other RVs besides the Compass that the owners found a way to mount a pipe or fence post of different types under the chassis to store the holding tank drain hoses. Anyone done the same on the Compass or Gemini units and if so how so?

slide out maintenance
So continuing on the topic of slide outs. I am making this my next area of study. Slide out gears require a lubricant and the seals require a different type of conditioner. Lots of choices on Amazon for both. Any recommendations?

CRC Power Lube, or so I was instructed by the dealer. Also works great on door hinges. I sprayed all my house door hinges over a year ago and haven't heard a squeaking hinge since.

Joining this thread thanks for starting it. I just purchased a 2017 Compass 23 TR and it seems to be working great. Heading to Gila National Forest this Memorial Day weekend and I’ll see what if anything goes wrong on it. Thanks for starting the thread, this forum is extremely helpful and informative.

Yes, just today. Sounds like they want to put anouther hole in it to drain the water back out rather than seal it.

Safety Recall
Can someone take a photo and point out this area that this recall is about?
I recently went camping and driving in some heavy rains and noticed no water intrusions. Thanks.

Received the recall notice in the mail today. Guess I will have that Service Bulletin for the code reader taken care of at the same time.
Hope they know what they are doing!
Paul

thanks BFD
The recall said on the driver side but I see nothing there.
On the passenger side, as in your photo, a compartment is there but it's empty.
Is what I've pointed out in red the Trailer Module in question? If so, it's high and dry.

I'm thinking it's under the plastic where you step?

Recall for 2016 Ford Transit chassis
I got mine in the mail this week too. I have had ours out in the rain (been a really wet spring) and I haven’t noticed anything. I have a feeling it’s under the footwell & can’t be seen. I’ll post an update on my experience when repairs are done

Towing
I was wondering.... how many of you have towed a dinghy with the ford chassis? We were looking at options - flat towing, trailer, etc. I know it’s supposed to be rated for 5000 lb, but I was hoping to keep it (vehicle & hookup) to around 3000. Thoughts?

Fvb2018, I previously had a class A on a Ford F53 chassis with the 30valve Triton v10 and towed a dinghy quite a bit. My dinghy was not a small vehicle, it was a 5800lb offroad built 4 door jeep on 37" tires. It wasn't the ideal situation as the jeep was pushing the limits of towing capacity. It took longer to stop, it taxed the engine going through the Smoky mountains and it was very noticeable in crosswinds.
That being said, if you are looking at flat towing a 3-4k lb vehicle you shouldn't have any trouble.
