FYI
It is much easier if you use the Motorcraft Nozzle attachment (see photo) that you purchase along with the Motorcraft DEF fluid at a Ford Dealer or elsewhere. The nozzle is less than $10 and is basically fool proof as long as you use it properly.

"Ghost" LED lights

I can talk about all the good things about this RV but us RVers already know about them. But it's those unexpected quirks that pop up that sometimes needs explaining.
Conclusion: We had a Great time with the Compass for our first trip in it.
...... and those things that need explaining:
how to set Jenson clock
black/grey water indicator is way off, both read E after all water was gone.
You see that list was short, the other thing we can figure out.
One last crazy thing. When everything is turned off I look into the tail lights and I can see light. Go outside and look at yours.
Photo shows camp sight and how we get away for parking on the car side.

Like PupPup noticed, we also have the LED brake and backup lights on constantly, but very dimly and only noticeable at night. 2018 Ford Compass 23TB. I have requested our dealer to submit this issue three times to Thor for a solution along with the other warranty issues that were corrected properly in the last 8 months. They say the problem cannot be duplicated in their shop and cannot measure any voltage to the taillights which might cause this. This LED illumination is visible at night and their offices are not open. They may have submitted this to Thor under warranty for a possible solution but Thor may have dropped the ball or is not concerned.
I have shut off power to the coach; removed all the spade fuses in the coach and the LED's are still dimly on.
Anyone else have this phenomenon. Is it a potential hazard/grounding issue I should be concerned about.

A paint stirring stick, on each side to trip the release would work, the bottom of the TV would then swing out for easy/ safe removal. Be sure to check HDMI connections on the distribution switch in the cabinet over your refrigerator. I have not checked mine, but you should be able to watch DVD on any TV if it is set to the correct input.

Good info. Are the releases on the outside of inside of the btacket? Thx

Cracked Exterior Caulking anyone?
I've noticed a horizontal crack in the caulking where the front cap meets the chassis (a few inches above the front windshield) on my 2017 Ford based Gemini. Has anyone found this happening on their unit? And if so, what have you done about it?
I have tried re-caulking (my older camper with a pretty messy and visually unattractive outcome) so for my Gemini I will probably have to seek out professional help (I also see a crack developing on the vertical seem just back from the driver's door).
I imagine if I have this work done I will need to do all of the caulked seams --as I guess it will all fail at roughly the same time. If anyone has commissioned this work, what I might be looking at in terms of expense? Nancy

I have found some caulk cracking on mine also. At this point I am just going to clean it and add a small layer of good quality caulk over it. That’s a pretty simple job. To remove and replace will be pricy

I noticed the same cracks in mine also. I used a very small amount of clear RTV to seal it up. Clean sparingly with acetone & mask with “blue” tape.

Thanks Hugh and Mountainsam, I guess I could try that too. It sounds right in my price range;-) I particularly like the "clear" adhesive and the "blue tape". Nancy

23TR Bed Frame Re-Engineering?
Quick Question:
Has anyone re-engineered the folding bed of the 23TR to allow a sliding frame vs folding? As an example, the Winnebago Fuse has a sliding bed platform where the back half slides under the front half instead of folding up. This obviously requires a two piece mattress and a different platform, but would allow easier access to the bed area for storage when the slide is in.
Also - anyone replace the original mattress with an air mattress like the Sleep Number mattress sold at Camping World and etc?
Thoughts?
Paul

Paul,
I think before I considered doing something like that I would quiz some Fuse owners on how comfortable the two piece mattress is. As long as our bed is comfortable I would not want to change it. I haven't seen any mention of that mod in the forum, however it would be interesting to hear more of it if you should proceed.

We will provide step by step progress should we decide to go ahead.
Good idea about checking with Fuse owners. I’ll check their forum if there is one.

My 2017 23TR came with a https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com
Extend your awning and look for the model and serial numbers on the tube. They have good documentation available for download.

Exactly right, the awning on our 2017 23TR is the Lattitude (OEM) Single Stage with Direct Response. I have attached the Owners Manual that shows how to adjust the pitch and also the emergency override should you have a total power failure.

Compass 23TB 7th camp and propane
I went to "Nall in the Fall" an RC Plane event
Dry camping for 3 days with no problems.
The Compass has performed well again.
I did bring a small generator to charge battery's, watch TV and to conserve my propane. I did not check the propane bottle it self but the gauge inside said I was two thirds full.
On one day it got a little to hot and I started the on board gen to cool off.
It ran for about 6 hours. After getting home I noticed that the propane was just about empty.
Knowing the the Gauge inside is not accurate.
Question: How long will a tank of propane last? or
What is the consumption of fuel running AC load.
Thank you Gemini and Compass Owners.

Possible water damage?
We are happy owners of 2017 Gemini, we've been asking questions on this thread, with great results. My question is this. Been noticing what looks like water damage next to moon window. On both sides, Cant see any leaks from outside. Clearly not fromLLP condensation. Any and all comments welcome.

Thank you for the quick responses, I was able to find the serial # and get the part I needed ordered.
I wanted to get an idea how long my generator would run with just the a/c on from full to empty it ran 28hrs, this is with the just the roof a/c on temperature setting inside was set for 80 deg and it was averaging over 100 deg outside it was not parked under any shade
