Grey/Black tank heaters

I have a 2017 Four Winds with tank heaters. How do you know if they are actually on. Besides turning the switchs on should you be able to feel the tanks and feel heat? Do the run through a thermostat?

There is normally a thermostat built into the heat pad. No real way to know that they are on except for the position of the switch. If you want a quick way to know if the switch is on you could convert the switches to the illuminated type. The only difference in the switch would be the addition of a ground.
