House battery died while plugged into shore power

I have a 2008 Sprinter chateau diesel. While plugged into shore power and using interior lights and tv the house battery died. Isn't shore power through the inventor to keep up the house battery? Any thoughts?

Do you have an inverter? Maybe you only have a converter whose job it is to charge the house batteries. Check you breaker panel for the breaker for the converter. Check the fuses on the converter itself.

If I am plugged in and the use store switch is off: 120V loads come from the shore power but 12V loads come from the batteries since the 120 to 12V converter (battery charger and power supply) is off!

No. the USE/STORE switch connects the house batteries to the DC buss and Converter when in USE. It disconnects the batteries from the DC buss when in STORE. In STORE and connected to Shore Power the Converter will supply the DC loads on the DC buss but the battery will NOT be charged by the Converter. The Converter still operates.

I'll have to check. It might just be parisitic 12V loads. I do know with the use store off and plugged in my house batteries will run down.
