Slide out concerns

I have a 2017 Thor 31SW and the slide out runs almost the entire length of my RV. I am having issues with the slide out not retracting it will retract at an angle and binds itself. I have always managed to get in to fully retract but sometimes it takes multiple attempts and I will have to retract the level jacks to get it to close and I am very aware about being as level as possible. Im concerned sooner or later Im going to get stranded with the slide out extended.

Has anyone had the same experience ? Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Are you holding the button for 3-5 seconds after the slide out has retracted? Also before you extend the slide out you should press the retract button for a few seconds. Do the same when you are going to retract, press extend button for a few seconds. Call me if you want to discuss 713.826.9354.

Have you tried to re-sync the motors?
(When extending or retracting your slide: hold the button for a couple of extra seconds, after the slide has reached it's proper positioning...)

Thank you both. I do re-sync the motors and hold the button down for a few extra seconds when retracting or extending. The problem is usually caused because the slide out leans forward so the top is getting in a bind after about 1 foot or so and I have to re-extend and bring up the jacks to get it to close.

What some do that might help you. Raise the jacks on the opposite side of the slide plus you might have to raise the MH/lower the jacks on the slide side.. This way the slide will be going downhill so to speak. Then try to bring the slide in.

Have you checked to see if the slide out is still on the rollers? I experienced the same thing with my 35J early on. Check on each end of the slide out from the outside to see if the v shaped rollers are still in position on the tracks that are fastened to the side of the slide out.
Also when I set the level on the motorhome with the slide retracted I used a 4 ft. level and put the slide out side high. I set the level bubble on the mark and not in the middle. That way the camper is level with all the weight of the slide out extended.

That is a problem. The slide-out is held vertical by the tracks on the front and rear and should not lean in or out. The push or pull on the upper and lower tracks should be the same as the gears are driven in a locked train by the same motor. The entire box (slide-out is a box) glides over rollers on the bottom.

Something is amiss if the slide-out is leaning in either direction.
