Mud Flaps ???

https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/...guards_92-1495

I am researching Mud Flaps to protect our toad and came across this. It say's desired height from ground is 4". The 16" would put me at 5" from the ground (which I am thinking should be ok) and the 22" one would be too long. Another issue is the tailpipe for the generator comes out the left corner of my Axis and I really don't want to relocate it. Any suggestions or other products would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

I too am researching this topic. Have heard mixed reports about brush vs flap style guards. Can’t beat this price though!

I am thinking for that price I might try it and if it doesn't work out I am not out much.

I need one to keep the crap off the CRV toad and have been researching what to install. The one from PPL looks like hammered dog poop but the one on the axis looks great.

The traiier that our will be perched upon has a 24" high front tool box...
Do you guys think that'll be high enough to protect the little guy?

i've read that these things tend to kick up more than using nothing at all....
which I can only say seems plausible to me.

I'm not sure what I would do if I ever start to tow, but I might look into more of a bra type thing for the toad if anything at all.....

You definitely want to be at least 4" off the ground, 5" is perfect. It gives your toad the protection, but it is high enough to not actually hit the ground or create enough wind to throw up rocks instead of stopping them.
We custom make mud flaps for the RV. So it can be the exact right length.
Now we have the okay to use the Thor logos so take a look.

The picture shows the flap almost touching the ground, the graven pad isn’t level so I dug down a bit and place some 2 X 12s down to level during storage this winter. On level ground they are 4” off the ground. I purchased this one from Amazon it was listed on the warehouse deals.. I just had to build a mounting bracket and cut the flap to form the bottom of the generator. A bit of a hassle but turned out alright, should keep most of the rocks off the toad.

We are getting ready to travel to severa RV shows and also enjoy some time off. We want to take our side by side with us but also want our car. Here is what we designed to go behind the coach.

I would go with a screen not a flap look up toad screens roadmaster makes good ones or you can make one from stuff available at homedepot for like $60 my parents have flaps and the headlights on their toad were broken after a trip through Alaska. I use a screen and have never had anything broken.

Strongly Recommend “Protect a Tow”! This is a screen protector that is easily installed and folds up nicely when not in use. We have towed our CRV several thousand miles with zero damage. Protectatow.tripod.com

Flaps directly behind the drive tires is all you need. Anything further back or all the way across creates drag and isn’t necessary. IMO I’ve travelled with my toad for thousands of miles and no issue.

Tow Defender by Roadmaster. Besides keeping the front protected from stones it helps keep the toad from eating all the coach’s road spray when it rains
