New Axis 25.3/Problem with the generator

Hello Everyone

First time RV'er here!

I just purchased a brand new 2017 Thor Axis 25.3 two days ago. While owning it less than 24 hours the generator quit while I was driving. I have not been able to get it to restart. Since it is Sunday and my dealer's Service Dept (two hours away) are closed, I have tried doing some simple troubleshooting. I am halfway competent so I'm comfortable trying things. Here are some of the things I have done.

1. Verified fuel tank is above 1/4 tank. It is actually full right now.
2. Verified 12V power to the unit.
3. I have not pulled the fuel line, but when trying to start from the generator itself I an smell the fuel.
4. Verified no breakers are tripped in the RV and also the breaker on the generator. Note: When the generator quit no breakers tripped.
5. Went ahead and replaced the oil. Easy and cheap.

When I try and start it the unit spins, but doesn't sound like it wants to fire.

I'm at a complete loss and I'm hoping it is something silly I forgot to check or something easy to fix. The wife is already worried we bought a lemon.

I appreciate any input. Other than that I really like the RV.

That is what mine did when the fuel pump went. Had to take it to an Onan/Cumins shop to get the fuel pump replaced.

When you hold it in "Stop" for 30-45 seconds (the LED will light up while its running the pump) can you hear the pump running? If so, try disconnecting the fuel line and have someone hold it in Stop to see if you see fuel coming out (yeah a really messy check but one the tech did to verify the pump wasn't working before he replaced it).

I do hear the pump running when I hold down Stop. I can't figure out how to take the clamp off of the fuel line. Kind of nervous I'm going to damage it. I'll call the dealer in the morning. Hopefully, they will be kind enough to help me out since it quit working less than 24 hours after I purchased the RV.

Irritating.... but the 24 hours issue is not unique to you or anyone else. It isn't the amount of time or miles when it comes to these units, it is someone usually screwing something up when they assembled it. I believe that you will find it is something very minor, very simple, but still irritating that it happened to you.

My generator also quit on us. My dealer said call Cummins Onan to get it repaired. They, (the dealer) didn't want to get involved in the repair. The Onan folks were great. Unit repaired under warranty. For my money, go straight to Cummins Onan.

Did you recover any codes at the generator?
