I was told that the 2019 Freedom Elite 24FE has a problem with electrical. I was told that you cannot run the Air Conditioner and the Microwave at the same time or you will blow a circuit???

I have never heard of this, was wondering if anyone knows if this is true or not. I was considering purchasing the motorhome but not if this is true.

Anyone know???

Thanks.

Probably not a problem, just a fact that you would have to live with. 30 Amp system. Our system in our Thor Axis cannot do both either.

Welcome to the site.

It is unlikely that this is true. In our coach you can run the microwave and the A/C at the same time without an issue (of course if someone also runs a hair dryer at that time when the other two are going then poof goes the breaker ! LOL ).

Who told you that piece of information?

I can’t imagine there is much difference between the 24Fe and 30FE and we run the air conditioning and microwave and everything else all the time with 30 amp or generator. Maybe someone meant if they were running on a 15 or 20 amp.

Welcome. You will be fine running AC and the Micro but not much else (other than some lights) at the same time. High power items (hair dryer) you have to manage one at a time with the AC on. No big deal.

Big Items:
A/C
Microwave
Hair Dryer
Portable Electric Heaters

When hooked up to 15-20A (extension cord at home) you can run only one Big Item
When hooked up to 30A (campground hookups, etc.) you can run only two Big Items at a time.

Other "big" items:
Coffee Pot
Toaster Oven/Toaster
Hot plate
Clothes Iron
Curling Iron
Household vacuum cleaner (how do you store that in your RV?)
Shopvac (again where??)
120V Compressor

(Basically anything that draws a lot of current--e.g. has a resistive element to generate heat or a decently large electric motor.)

Welcome to the Site!
They've got you covered on the "power usage thing": don't be "shocked" by it!

We all pretty much have to learn where the limits are...

We have ran air conditioner and coffee maker or microwave, but you have to be aware of 30 amp limits

Turn off the water heater and try it again.

We can't do it either with our Axis. Don't remember if I had the water heater turned on or not when the breaker tripped.

We have spent approx 8 weeks in our 23TR in the last year and have never given the 30 amp service a thought. We have run everything we have needed to run and never popped a breaker. We use coffee pot, micro wave, toaster, a/c, hot water in the mornings at one time or another.

If I found I couldn't run certain things at the same time I think I would just turn one off for a few minutes. Five campers over the past 42 years and I do not remember ever popping a breaker. Now I jinxed myself,

Smile

Thanks everyone for your posts.

I made the dealer connect camper to 30amp and then tested it every way to Sunday and no tripped breakers.

I guess other salesman had alternate agenda, you know Salesman.

Anyway, will be purchasing Motorhome of Thursday.

Look forward to being a member of this forum.

anyone know how to close off the Thread???

Welcome to the forum and as others have mentioned you should be ok with running both at the same time with a little caution. If you are in an old campground with old undersized wiring, you may experience a circuit overload, especially if there are a lot of campers there in the summertime.
