New Thor Compass owner here

I'm ready for any questions.
Loving the floor plan with the rear slide.
A few cosmetic defects.
As much as 18mpg so far.

I'm considering the Compass...the mileage you are reporting is phenomenal. I'm assuming this was accomplished on mostly flat roads? Any hills? How does the engine perform? Underpowered? Pulls up hills easily? Thanks for any feedback!

Welcome to the forum.! We saw a compass at an RV show, and found it a bit too small for the way we travel.
Keep the forum posted, there are folks out there who are interested in your experience with your new rig.

Thanks, I most definitely will. Once I find a reputable dealer that I feel comfortable with, that may determine which brand I end up with.

We purchased the sister coach, Gemini. We actually chose the Mercedes sprinter chassis over the ford. The coaches are similar and we are very happy with our decision. One of the reasons we decided on the diesel coach was power in the mountains. We aren't disappointed and the mileage is pretty good approx 13.0 when we were in the mountains. We had a VW rialta when we lived out west and getting it over a mountain was nearly impossible. The Gemini takes mountains like its nothing! Its small enough to park nearly anywhere.

Great fuel economy -- better than most gasoline Class Bs.

Curious what speed you must drive to get 18 MPG? That's really good.

We have the Gemini also. It's been in the shop for a few delivery issues so I have only put around 200 miles total on it and only getting high 13's. The Ford diesel seems to run very strong. Even after driving Cummins for the last 13 years I am very pleased with the Ford 3.2. This being a relatively new design I am curious as to issues others are having and the fun as well.

Congratulations on your new coach!!! Even though I didn't buy a MH for the gas mileage I must admit I'm a little jealous! Enjoy and have FUN!!!

The 18 was the best I've ever gotten, and under ideal conditions, driving at 45 on a flat road. The average realword range can vary between a low of 13 to a high of about 16. Steep grades and high winds make a big difference. The engine has really great power up any steep grade. It handles almost like a big SUV, not a truck. This diesel is a terrific option, unless you like paying double for the Mercedes?

We have the Gemini TX on the Mercedes too. Its strong points, drivability, maneuverability, and great mileage, almost 20MPG, on the level. Downsides, very limited interior space, but probably that's something we can get used to. We chose the Mercedes chassis over the Ford, as its a heaver chassis, and has the two slides instead of one, helps a bit with that limited interior space. Have had a number of weird issues with it, fortunately the dealer has been working with us to resolve.

Hi Laco,

We are new to the RV buying and ee are looking at purchasing a Compass TX and we are wondering how much exterior storage space there is. Is there enough room to carry 2 sets of golf clubs and some lawn chairs. Are you satisfied with the TX. Thanks for any input! BACALL79

If the Compass TX is like the Gemini TX, we carry several patio chairs, and the storage across the back will accommodate golf clubs. I don't carry golf clubs, but have a host of tools, CO2 containers, propane, DEF fluid, a BBQ, & more plus a five foot ladder, which I have yet to use. We previously had a 41 foot DP, so we are still accommodating and adjusting to the drastic downsizing. Love the maneuverability ease of driving, parking, and certainly the 18+MPG we get, compared to 6.5 from the DP.
