If you connect to the campground water, it should fill the hot water tank as it pressurizes the system. Ist time out you may have to open faucets to let air out of the system.
But- If you have no hot water from the hot water faucet, the water heater may be bypassed (winterized) your manual should show how to set the valves at the water heater back to normal use. Operating the water heater with no water can damage the tank....

FWIW I put a red tag on the water pump and heater switches when the tank is bypassed and I winterize.

Thank you. I think it just took longer for the electricity to heat the water than I expected. New issue: Furnace no longer blowing hot air. It worked fine at beginning of night. Plenty LP. I checked the fuse and it's good. Any help appreciated.

Can you light your stove? If you cannot it is a problem with the gas. If you can, it is probably a problem with the furnace. I always light my stove before I try to light my ref ridge or furnace. One easy problem to fix (I always check those first) is there is a flame protector just above the gas flame that protects the flame from wind. On one of my coaches, it had not been tightened correctly and fell down snuffing out the flame. Cost me $100 to find out I could have pushed it back up and tightened the screw.

Uneasy rver - can you turn the electric and gas heaters on the water heater at the same time? We do this and the water heats up quick and stays hot for an entire shower (DW likes about a 10 minute shower).
