Newby seeking advise GPS

Just purchased a new (new to us) 2016 Thor Tuscany XTE 36MQ. Coach does not have GPS and I am seeking an upgrade or advise regarding best cost-effective plan forward to upgrade. We are from Canada and will be traveling to Arizona this fall. Any ideas are appreciated?

We use our cell phones and tablets for GPS and trip planning. There are lots of apps out there as well as free maps software for both iPhone and Android.

Other than that, the Garmin 760 or 770 seems to be a popular choice, but they are a bit pricy (in my opinion.)

You'll here more options with this thread than Carter has "Little Liver Pills". Our coach has the Ford Sync System with Navigation but I still added the Garmin RV-770 as a back up because it has such specific RV programmable data and guides you around low bridges, list campgrounds and fuel stops, etc. Good luck with your research.

I also use tablets and phone's for nav. I picked up an inexpensive Samsung tablet and use google maps with that. The tablet is only WiFi so I just download the area's were going to before the trip.

Our 31E has a "higher end" axxera with a "sub navigation" the system seems to switch AV over to it. played with it a little and wasn't impressed. during a 4 digit amazon shopping spree, i bought a Garmin 770 despite the bad reviews. personally i think the reviews come from mis-programming the unit. i figure i can always download an app or use google maps on my phone if the Garmin fails me.

Thank you for the feedback. My wife has informed me that she has the tech-savvy to download required mapping to her iphone. Being married fr as long as I have, I will have no problem taking direction from her! Thanks again.

I like my 770 quite a lot but “the lady in the box” isn’t quite as smart as she thinks she is... We had about 300 miles to drive mostly on I-70 and she insisted it would take 7 hours. She wanted to route us well north at one point because there was a bridge on I-70 with a 5,000lb weight limit. On I-70?? I think not! She sort of had a fit when I ignored her and “made” me acknowledge that I was taking a risk before she went back to work. Interesting.
