Has anyone tried to put a quart of motor oil in their Thor axis

Thanks Larry I appreciate it I can't even seem to find oil cap It must be hidden in there somewhere

It's over to the right side of the battery. Might have to pull some of the vent hoses back out of the way to see the filler tube.

Larry didn't mention it --but getting the oil cap off, not dropping it and loosing it in the wire bundle/hoses/air duct black hole next to the battery, using a funnel and flexible hose to get the oil in the oil filler hole is a three alarm royal PITA.

When I recently had some warranty work done and I was at 7000 miles I just had my dealer do the 7500 oil and filter change. I paid the labor and for me the cost was well worth the lack of aggravation.

But if you want to do it yourself -- as we used to say in the AF -- like reconnaissance aircraft you'll go alone, unarmed, and unafraid.

Thanks to everyone I'm going to See if I can find an extension tube that will fit it and run it out to the front to make it a lot easier I'm sure the other manufacturers might have one I can borrow from them Called Thor where it was said it's in there somewhere Asking why they would do that No explanation other than a kind of laugh

Last year I bought a funnel with about an 18" clear plastic hose with a plastic fitting and cap on the end at Walmart. The hose just fits over the oil dip stick tube. Very simple refill. I put a zip-tie on the funnel and either hooked it to the Windshield Wiper or the ladder. I don't remember now.

Before this solution I had purchased some clear plastic hose of the same diameter at Lowe's and run the hose to the fill hole. This was a real pain. Glad I found the easy-peasy solution.

Hardest job was building ramps out of 2x12s with a long shallow approach to get the low-slung Axis up in the air. Thought my days of crawling around on the ground under vehicles was over, but with cost of oil change and lube for an RV I am back on my back.

ONE of the reasons I had the dealer do the oil change was because they have a centralized pressurized system to refill the crankcase. No funnel. No hose. No hassle.

Thanks road hog never thought of refilling the crankcase through the oil dipstick tube good idea have that same funnel with clear tube believe I did get it at wal-mart Going to use my Leveling blocks just drive up on them to get up under it good idea?

Not sure I would trust my life to leveling blocks if they are not absolutely stable or are those plastic ones. Please be careful.

Thanks road hog after I drive it up will put floor jacks in place 3 ton or I might go with advice and take in for service only thing is I trust me to do it right also thanks bevedfelker

Like Roadhog, I use a funnel attached to a small hose. I used flexible irrigation tubing and taped it to a funnel. On the other end, I attached a 90 degree nipple.

Cheap and easy. I try to keep my coach away from RV service people as much as possible!

I agree mr. Sunshine It'd be one thing if you paid and got the job done right but in the past I found i paid and got the job done wrong that's why I'd rather do it myself

When changing the oil, there are a few grease zerks on the steering joints that require a touch from a grease gun. Go easy and don't blow out the seals. Remember to check all the fluids, while you are doing the service.
