Picked up our new Gemini 23TR yesterday

Drove it home about 75 miles. I was very impressed with the 3.2 Power Stroke. Lots of pickup and it wanted to run on beyond the 65 mph speed limit. The ride was ok, not as good as my 2014 Ram was but ok. I will be able to do 10 - 12 hrs a day with no problem. I am glad it will be just my wife and I travelling in it as I believe a couple kids could be a little too rough on the interior. Over all I think we will enjoy it more than the fifth wheel we had.

Now to get a trip planned.

10-12 hrs a day is a lot of driving and very tiring. Congratulations on your new coach, have lots of fun!

Thanks for all the good wishes. Shake down will probably be in a couple weeks. We are tied up until after Easter. May get it out for a few days to quick check all systems. We are hoping to do a long trip east this summer. Depending on how that goes Alaska may be on the list next year.

Shake Down cruise is over and I am well pleased. Other than the minor issues I already had scheduled to be done this week, I found no others. Everything worked well. The a/c and heat pump are a little loud but after a while I got used to it and fell sound asleep. My feet hanging over the end of the bed however. I got all the tvs figured out and working. I do have a small remote I have no idea what it is for, no name and strange looking symbols on it.

It took minutes to set up the rv and even with no stabilizing it was solid, no wobbling back and forth like our fifth wheel did. I ran or used every system and as far as I can tell it is ready and waiting for an extended trip.

Good news on the shake down trip results!
"I have no idea what it is for, no name and strange looking symbols on it."
My guess is its the remote to the Jensen panel (just to your right as you enter). Nancy

Yup, we like it. I think we will get a lot of good travels in it. Since it is much differant than a Class C I think we should have a RUV Forum

Well its Friday and I said I would post Wednesday as to what the small remote control is for. Still have no idea. No one at the dealership that I have yet talked to knows. And they called today to tell me it isn't ready again and won't have any info until Monday afternoon.

Does this Jansan system have a sub wolfer in it????

mountainsam, you have experienced the mystery of the small unidentifiable remote included in the coach. I too have the same mystery remote in my Gemini 23TR. We purchased thru Camping World in Council Bluffs, Ia. last fall and they also have no idea what it is for. Someone must know its purpose. Anyone?

Well maybe it is something they have thrown in to fool us midwesterners. I grew up in CB and lived in Omaha after the military. Still visit every year or so. If I should discover it's purpose I will surely let you know.

Interesting to read that more than one Gemini/Compass owner has this mystery controller. As a single occurrence --I had begun to think it must be for some tool or gauge at the assembly plant and been inadvertently left behind.
So there are only so many things inside the unit it COULD be for...maybe the microwave? maybe the thermostat/AC? tankless hot water?

Someone post a picture of this mystery remote. Maybe someone has figured out what it is for.

Problem solved. The small remote is for the rear view mirror with the back up camera image. I stopped by to visit my RV as it is still in the shop awaiting parts. Skylite frame is still not right but parts are on the way. Hopefully thats the last of the delivery issues. So wee played around with the remote until we noticed something changing.

We are considering the 23TK (I like dinettes, and we want a stationary bed for our 2 largish dogs to ride on when traveling down the road. Yes, we have priorities!).

How do your dogs, er, I mean you, like your 23 so far?

well we like it but would like to be able to use it. It is still at the shop for the skylite repair. Its been nearly 2 months since we bought it and had it home for a week. I have a short trip planned, already cancelled one. When our dogs go along they will be on their beds. Probably in the back if its cool enough. We stumble over them in our house so I know we will be stumbling over then in the Gemini.
