I had the same issue. I believe under settings there is a T/A button. I hit this and the problem went away.

Navy, go to the mods section and look at Jerry’s hurricane mods. The are numerous posts there along with a color code for the wiring courtesy of Dino. You can purchase the 9” quad monitor from Rear View Safety. https://www.rearviewsafety.com/ Biggest decision is what type of mount you want to use, screwed into the dash or a suction mount on an adhesive disc. Install is really pretty easy since the monitor uses the same camera plugs as Thor.

New rules, no radio

Thank the ghost of Ralph Nader. On the 2018 models when the cameras go on, the radio is muted.

Unless you just really like the side view cameras, I don’t, you can easily disconnect them. Under the dash is a small silver box with camera inputs and trigger wires. Clip the trigger wires and no more side cameras. Do not disconnect the camera leads, the trigger inputs will still try to switch to the side cameras and your radio will still mute.

Thanks. I may do this. I'm not a fan of the side view cameras. They have too much lag between turning on the turn signal and the side view camera coming on and looking down at the dash just distracts me when I'm in traffic.

We're probably going to replace the radio with a regular AM/FM/Bluetooth one from Walmart or somewhere and just put a small screen on the dash dedicated to the rear view camera. The Axxera radio just isn't that great and has days when it just does not want to work.

These people have a great selection of monitors that are compatible with the Thor cameras. I purchased a 9” quad view monitor and can now see all three cameras at the same time or select any combination I like. Install is simple.

RVS-6139Q
9" TFT LCD DIGITAL QUAD VIEW COLOR MONITOR
PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
9" TFT LCD Quad View Digital Color Display
Quad view display - Multiple viewing options
Optional distance grid lines for backing up reference
Built-in speakers for audio
Flushmount option - attach monitor to flat surface or dash
$234.99

This is what I purchased. I used a Ram suction mount attached to an adhesive backed disc for mounting the monitor on the dash. Wiring was easy, I spliced in to the factory harness, only took about 30 min total to complete the job.

Hi SuperD, I was actually wondering what rear mirror you have there mounted to your dash? I was looking for something like that but none looked like what I wanted. That looks like it's the right size and shape.

The mirror is a wide angle boat ski mirror I got from Amazon. I bought this one with a suction mount and didn’t like it, repurposed it for the MH and got a different one for the boat. My wife sits at the dinette a lot and having the dash mirror allows easier conversation, plus I like to see when she’s up moving around.

I really like that 9" monitor SuperD! I've been wanting something better as ours is very hard to see in the sunlight, this looks like the ticket. Thanks for posting the details.

Courtesy of Dino, this is the color coding of the wires to the factory switch box. Clip the wires and splice them to the new wiring harness, I didn’t splice in the turn signal trigger wires.

The reason for the radio muting is many of the coaches have a microphone in the rear camera. When the coach is put in reverse, the radio is muted so you can hear the rear microphone. Unfortunately the system's controller assumes the side camera have microphones also but that is not the case. I have to turn up the radio volume considerably to hear the rear mic but it is sure a nice feature when backing into a dark parking space at night.

I have a 2017 Miramar and I find that if I’m riding with the rear camera on and use the turn signal the radio sound stays on. If I have the radio screen on it doesn’t.

Confirmation regarding changing out monitors

I got so tired of putting on the blinker to change lanes and I lose my rear camera, I recently purchased a 10.5" quad view monitor so all cameras are visible. I haven't installed it yet but I appreciate the confirmation that it will work. Thanks!

Two options for mounting, drill in to the dash and mount with screws, or use an adhesive disc and a Ram suction mount. I use the Ram and it works great. You are going to love the new monitor!!! I eliminated the factory switch box, don’t need it. I also did not hook up the turn signal trigger wires.

Be anxious to hear your thoughts after you do the install.

Adapters

Super D , did you need any adapters? Mine has voyager 4 pin males coming from the cameras and the monitor has female rca’s and 2mm male power connections.
