Recliners

We just bought a 2017 Four Winds 31L and would like to take out the leather couch/queen bed and replace it with 2 recliners. Does anyone know the best way/place to sell and buy RV items?

Here are some links to what/where we're looking.

We're leaving the loveseat/bed and have removed the booth, it's TERRIBLE for setting!
We've been to several furniture stores, LZ-Y-BOY, Camping world

De Leon RV Double Recliner Sofa, RV Furniture - Shop4Seats.com

We'are also using Shop4Seats. Our Monaco Double RV Recliner Loveseat should be delivered tomorrow (woo hoo).

Replacing the semi-functional hide-a-bed sofa/loveseat in our Axis.

Edit: Our couch was delivered on Friday.

We used recliners from http://https://www.recpro.com/ and have been VERY happy with our recliners and RECPRO support after the sale. They fit just right in the 68 inch space we had. Just had to add 2x4 to front of slide floor and remove shelf behind couch to get enough room for full recline.

In my search for recliners, I've found a couple of sites that I don't think are mentioned in the threads I've read.

paulsseating.net
rvpartsnation.com

Depends on how much you want to spend and the quality you desire $$. We just replaced our sleeper sofa with theater seating from Lambright furniture (Amish made) from Braddandhall.com they specialize in RV furniture and have a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee.

In my post above, I mentioned two sites with RV furniture that I had not seen mentioned before. I'd recommend removing RV Parts Nation from the list. Further research shows they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau along with 53 complaints and numerous negative reviews.

We put the RecPro.com duel recliners in our Axis and they were very nice. We used the darker mahogany fabric rather than trying to match the lighter leather color. They fit the space perfectly and were very comfortable, not to soft, not too hard. We also bought a couple of yards of extra fabric to make pillows and the bottom trim below the chairs that you can see in the picture. I think we got the extra fabric for about $10. They will send you samples for no charge.

We put the Monaco Double Recliners in our Axis from Shop4seats as that was the only recliner couch that also kept the center seating position that I could find. Once we got them we figured out why its so expensive...real leather. I did try to match the fabric on the couch to the chairs. Of course the recliners went in the week after I put the camper away for the winter...!

Whoops sorry I missed that one--could have posted earlier (I did post this pic in the Axis/Vegas mods thread). Oh well, better late than never LOL.

I love what you did to your rig with the seating and I am looking to do the same but have a question why was it so important for you to find and keep the center section? Is that so it could still seat three people?

Correct: I still wanted three belted spots as we bring along our son and he will sometimes bring a friend or two. Thus keeping the 5 belted seats (granted 1 is the driver, the other the passenger and the 3 on the couch) was an important factor in finding some recliners.

We've also used the RV for other things (tailgating, transportation to concerts, etc.) where the need for all 5 seats is also important.

It sounds like some of you installed the recliners yourselves. Question: what did couch removal involve? Does the couch come apart easily and in pieces that fit through the door? Any information on couch removal will be appreciated.

I did not do the removal/installation myself but was able to discuss how things went with our installer. I believe both processes are pretty straightforward. The couch that was in there came out in pieces (our RV storage lot still has our old couch in their office for sale). It actually came out a lot easier than they had expected it to (for what its worth).

Recliners

I did the removal and installation myself. It took a couple hours to take apart and remove but it but it was pretty simple. The most difficult part of putting the recliners in was attaching them to the slide out floor. I used metal L brackets and screwed them into the recliner metal frame on the bottom and then screwed them into the slide out floor with self drilling bolts. If you get a 90 degree drill extender it makes the job much easier. Make sure your bolts are short enough not to penetrate the floor too far so the slide won’t be impeded. This way I was able to use the recliners & seatbelts while the wife drives it took about 2 more hours for the install.

Traveler, thanks for your description of couch removal. As they say, "the devil is in the details" so I particularly appreciate your detailed description.
