Remote Key Fob

Has anyone had to replace their remote key fob? The fob works but broke from the ring so should be replaced so it can be kept with the keyring. I looked online and there are replacements but you have to program them. It took me a while just to find the "new thread" button here so you can guess how good I will be at programming a new key fob. Thanks for any ideas!

Bear in mind the remote is not a Ford item, it's an aftermarket brand Thor installs. I've not done it but saw a thread on the Quantum owners FB page that the control is located in the drivers side step well. They said programing was pretty straight forward, follow the instructions step by step and you should come out OK. Best of luck.

I have seen "over lay" or swap out cover types at places like AutoZone etc.

As long as the new fob is the exact same physically, you can pop out the actual transmitter piece and put in the new housing. Once opened, as if you are changing battery, just push on the buttons and the whole inside will pop free. No new programming needed.
