24.1: Rebuild Sofa or Expensive Recliners

The stock sofa on my 2017 Vegas/Axis 24.1 is uncomfortable to sit on.
Bottomline...it sinks

We did the math:
- $2600 for the top of the line Shop4Seats recliners
Or
- $10 + my DIY labor to fix the sofa

After analyzing a possible fix/modification...I determined that it just needs under support and extra foam padding.

I used “plumber’s tape”, short screws, and a couple of foam pads.

Now, it’s nice and firm, doesn’t sink, and very comfortable.

The "L" sectional in our DRV is not to out liking regarding the fabric. Unable to find a suitable replacement, manufacturer has been no help and custom made is $$$$$! So we will try our hand at disassembling and reupholstering it! If it ends well we get bragging rights, it it doesnt, there will be a blanket thrown over it!

I'm stealing this idea if I get a 24.1.

I have a brand new 24.1. The sofa seems ok to me except the back needs to tilt more aft. There is room to do so. I am going to add a half inch or so spacer underneath the back's hinge to let it go back further. I will report back how that works out.

the seat sag happens over time
the "springs" (if that's what they are called) begin to spread
thus, we began to slowly sink.
the fold-out sleeping is unaffected by the seat spring sag as that area supports your lower leg.

i'm not THOR bashing, it's just the reality of this RV sofa
