Stroke of Good Luck X2

As many of you may have seen on the national news, Saturday night 9 tornadoes spawned up in Hillsboro about 50 miles south of Dallas Ft Worth. We had just spent 3 days urban camping (in dads driveway) and hit the road to get back to DFW before a front with heavy rain arrived. 10 minutes after we passed Hillsboro the weather alert station alerted to tornado warning in Hillsboro stating take cover immediately. I pushed on and continued to get alerts about multiple tornados spotted as the storm moved to the east. 11 people lost their lives and hundreds of homes and buildings were demolished..crazy.

I got home pulled into the driveway and unloaded the coach in the rain. The following day Sunday I cleaned up the coach thoroughly and called it a day. Today I came home to make sure all was dry in the coach and found that a 100 year old oak next to my driveway (40 ft tall) just broke at the roots and fell to the ground, fortunately in the other direction of the coach and its' storage hangar. Big relief that we dodged both bullets on that trip! Be careful out there folks!!

Wow, your being watched, Perhaps you should trim the old Oak Tree, to make sure the rest doesn't decide to fall.

Thanks Yosemiebob, Actualy all the limbs you see in the foreground are from the downed tree. The other nearest tree is 50-60 feet away. On the other end of the hangar we have a similar sized oak. I am going to get it pruned up ASAP to avoid this type of incident from occurring again. Trees are a blessing and a curse..
