Seiki TVs and DISH satellite

Thinking of buying a DISH Playmaker Portable Satellite TV Antenna. We have those marvelous Seiki TVs that Thor buys at the Dollar Store.

Anyone have an experience with this combination?

you shouldn't have a problem... do they have HDMI? if so, that's what you'll want to connect them to the Dish receiver. If not, then you'll use SD via a coax cable, easy. Make sure, though, as some new receivers may only have HDMI outputs.

are you wanting to only watch Dish channels on ONE tv? if so, the playmaker will provide a single satellite signal. If you want a choice to watch channels on two different TVs, at the same time, then get one of the other similar units that have TWO outputs, one to each different tv's receiver.*

*the secondary tv will have a signal for channels that are only from the satellite that the Main receiver is tuned to, more or less, which is why you see the wording such as 'supports' two receivers, or 'supports' multiple receivers. The second receiver on this portable antenna will be limited to channels, but it's still a good option once you get to know how to use it.

Of course, a single receive CAN be just as good, especially if you don't need multiple tvs watching different channels at the same time, as you can easily move your receiver from the bedroom to the outside tv area, etc., and easily set it up there during the day, and move it back during the nighttime watching. We did that this weekend during the 'mothers day' Players Championship, as some folks wanted to see it while we all sat outside.

The tv should not make a difference as you will connecting with an hdmi cable between the dish reciever and the tv. Mine is connected with the reciever going to an input on the hdmi switch box. That way it feeds all of my tvs at the same time.

We have the SWM3 direct system running to 3 of the Seiki's which work fine with the satellite HD.

We have the same setup, great picture on all 4 TV's. No issues but we have direct TV. Guy came out to our home set up the RV box and reprogramed the remotes to control the TV and sound bar. When we are not RVing we have direct TV turn off the RV boxes so we don't pay for them.
