Axis 24.1 question

We are in the process of buying an Axis 24.1. There is a problem with the rear door of the bathroom. The door will not open far enough to allow the wardrobe closet and drawers to open. We have seen pictures of the drawer open when the door is open. Has anyone had a problem with this. The dealer says it can’t be fixed. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks Larry

The doors on the 24.1 are supposed to be fully opened to allow a large bathroom space. Full access to the closet and those drawers. What is the door striking that won't allow it to fully open? If the dealer (I am curious which dealer you are referring to) says it can't be fixed, that is a loser in my mind. Sounds more like they don't want to bother to fix it.

Thanks for the reply. They say the accordion door behind it will not allow it to open that far. They want me to take delivery tomorrow. I will see what they are talking about then. I really like the coach I’m hoping I won’t have to walk away.

If they won't fix it I'd walk away and look somewhere else. Sounds to me like a lazy dealer who just want a sale.

Sounds to me like the dealer doesn’t think it’s broken but designed that way - or wants you to believe that! Should be easy enough to see why it’s not opening all the way and you can go from there. Good luck. I hope it works out for you. If not don’t fret too much. These units are easy to find.

I hate it when I hear someone say: "They all do that."
Most times: they don't.
Walk away... quickly!

Have someone here post a pic of how it should operate and show the dealer (I can't I have the older door).

Or grab a pic or two from Thor's website.

If the accordian door (which we have never used even once) is keeping it from opening, then either it or the bathroom itself was installed in the wrong place. If they won't fix it, I would find one that works and tell that dealership, (which one is it again?) goodbye. It really is too bad so many sales people don't know about or even lie about the products that are selling.

Pitguy -- we need to know what year for the 24.1 because in 2016 they changed how the door was hinged and swung.

Prior to 2016 the door was an accordion hinged and operated like the drawing I attached below.

Sometime in 2016 they eliminated the accordion fold and went with two doors like barn doors.

Which are you looking at. If it's 2015 there is no reason for interference with the drawers and wardrobe door. We have the 2015 and can always open the drawers and wardrobe door when the accordion is fully open and the latch at the top is engaged in the ceiling latch in the hallway above the refrigerator.

If it's after 2015 then it should look just like the pixs petew attached and you can see there should be no interference.

I see you have had a lot of feedback....our doors on our 2016 extend all the way out...and our drawers and closet open...albeit it is close.
Ron is wondering if your accordion door is not retracted all the way. We have had our accordion door open once...just to see what it was ... it pushes back in with some resistance.

That is all we have for you... good luck... ! by the way...WE LOVE OUR AXIS !

Murrieta, Colton or Montclair location? Sadly, I am not surprised.... they are probably hiring a lot of people and have huge turnover.... Not making excuses, just stating the obvious. We were somewhat lucky when we bought ours because the salesman was at least 70 and knew something.

The magnet on the floor may be installed too far forward
