Driving down the road feelling bad.....well afterwards I did... About 50 miles outside Boulder, CO on I-76 we looked over to the Radio and saw that the entire radio fell inside the Dashboard.

JOY TO THE WORLD...

My blood was boiling and we called THOR when we got to our campsite. First they asked WHO INSTALLED THAT RADIO ??? Well it was you clowns... YES you sent me a replacement once cause the sound on the current one doesnt work but you send it too late for me to put it in and it's in the original package.

So I took a closer looks and it seem that the entire enclosure is only held but the "lips" of the frame and it seems that whichever 6 fingered inbred they let work on this can't measure or cut straight.

I was able to bend the frame back and over the lip but haveto see if I can find some strips I can stick behind so it wont slip back again so easy.

Had the same problem with my new 2017 Synergy.....twice it fell in the dash. The second time I fixed it myself by shimming the sides of the mount and building a hanger in the back to take the weight of the unit off of the side connection points. This is only one of many design flaws that Thor has. Don't get me started on the Girard thankless water heater. I have totally given up on Thor's warranty work and now realize if I want it done right, I have to do it myself or take it to a mechanic I can trust.

On the bright side: the job of replacing it, is just about halfway completed...

Man reading posts like this makes me feel better about getting a Class C.

BTW I don't think any others are better. RVs are typically junk.

I wouldn't call them "junk".

They're more of a good start!

That may be more accurate; but it just doesn't sound as interesting...

Or hot water heater. Why would you heat water that is already hot? It's a water heater!

Unfortunately RV manufacturing is largely unregulated, so the manufactures are driven by profit margins. The consumer loses, because overall manufacturing costs are lower, using inexperienced, inexpensive labor to assemble the RV's, and letting the dealers fix and repair assembly line errors and inconsistencies. Dealer service departments are overwhelmed, as they are having to in some cases, practically rebuild some of the RV's that have been sold, for reduced labor costs, which contractually is what is agreed to by the manufacture and the dealer. I can tell you that not far from where I live there is a Provost service center. If you own a Provost, it takes months to get it in for service or repair, and they are just as overwhelmed by warrantee work as dealers of lower end RV's. To substantially change this whole situation, meaning highly skilled assembly line workers and a vastly enhanced quality control process, consumers would have to pay substantially more for their RV's than they currently are, and no consumer I know wants that!

Actually, refusing to buy would work wonders, but that's not going to happen either. This is a tale as old as the industrial revolution. Hard times and layoffs will motivate to survive but hurt many more. They're turning them out to meet demand and folks are still lining up.

Goodbye for a while. Tonight is full hookups. Tomorrow - Mountains. No hookups, no cell service mostly. Throw that cell phone in the corner and have some fun. Back in a couple of weeks.
