Thor Aria HDMI connector on dashboard??

We just got our new Thor Aria motor coach and we are mystified on what the purpose of the HDMI video connector is that is located on the dashboard. I thought maybe it would allow me to display my iPhone maps on the Axerra radio but when I hooked it up and told the radio to use video input, it said no input. So, now I have no idea what the plug is for.

Does anyone know what this is for and how to use it?

The HDMI port is for mirroring an iPhone but I believe you have to use the Dual Mirror menu selection rather than video input. That is provided they connected that HDMI port to the back of the radio.

As a note, IMHO, the mirroring image is crap at best and trying to use it for navigation would require a telescope to view the screen.

I plug an Amazon FireStick into mine. On the Palazzo the speakers are hooked up to that unit, so I use it for music and the screen gives me the lyrics, it is basically Kareoke!

I guess we should feel lucky that they even installed a radio. I look at this way, if they provided a NAV system, it probably wouldn’t work either, kind of like the rest of the items installed.

I pursued this issue by taking the dashboard cover off. I found that the HDMI cable from the dash is not connected to anything at all. It is non-functional. There is no place to connect it to the Axxerra radio, either.

The dash HDMI and USB on my 2016 ACE do connect to my Axerra radio. I'm sure yours is newer than my so why would they delete that capability?

Ours just has USB charging ports, no HDMI at all....

Ours does have a Nav system, and it works just fine....
